Hi All,

So I have been hearing both on VST and on TV news segments that people are loosing over 100lbs in 6 months after surgery. I am concern that I have not been losing as well as I could. Let me say that it will be a year December 10th I have lost 80+ pounds, which is great and it shows but I am thinking that I need to go back and replace some meals with protein shakes and cut back on some things.

What is your take? Any recommendations?

Thanks!

I think you are doing awesome! We are all different and we are going to lose at different paces. Celebrate losing 80+ pounds and keeping it off! I don't think you should replace meals with shakes. Shakes just go right through your sleeve. It's better to eat real protein and get restriction. Congrats on doing so great! I am a December sleever too! ; )

Coodles to you! 80pds is a major milestone in your weight loss. Don't listen to what others have done. Listen to your body and what you are comfortable with. Every one is different. I agree with Becca shakes are not the way to turn to. Eating right and making wise decesions on what to eat is the way to go. I have been a sleever since july of this yr. As of today, i have lost 67 pounds but I have been extremely strict with myself. I really feel its how your body is reacting and how we treat our bodies back. Take a bow! Your doing GREAT!

As long as you're continuing a downward trend, you're doing good. Everyone loses at different rates. But if you are worried you could try writing down everything you eat and drink for a few weeks and then go over it to make sure you're sticking to your plan. Don't replace meals with shakes. When in doubt contact your surgeon if possible. S/he is the only person who can really tell you if what you're experiencing is normal or not. I'm not a doctor and I doubt anyone else here is either. Your surgeon, doctor, or nutritionist are your best bet for answering questions like these.

And you've lost 80lbs. That's no easy feat. Keep up the hard work and it will come off if you're doing what you're supposed to.
