Well, this past Saturday I ended up going to a Little Big Town concert. We had 4th row VIP seating and it was AWESOME! It was a 3hr trip down there, then a 1hr wait in line to get in, and then a 30min wait in line to get to seating. GRRR! Also, it was in the upper 90's and I was hot! We missed the opening act because of the long lines, and once we got to our seats, most of the people on the row were already seated and did not want to move to let us in. We were in seats 9 and 10, so right in the middle. So finally I just pushed my way in and did not care what anyone thought, the jerks. After the concert, it took forever to walk out of there because it was so full. A lot of people were drunk and acting stupid and I was lucky enough to have the biggest A**hole right behind me. He kept making moo'ing noises behind me. It took all I had not to turn around and punch him in the throat! Finally my friend turned around and said, "hey buddy, you know I grew up on a farm and it sure makes me homesick seeing a jackass like you" I laughed so hard, but I also just wanted to run and cry. I had started the day off so good and it only took that one guy to bring me down and feel ashamed of myself. I have always been overweight and have always had people make comments, but when does it end? When I lose the weight? Who do these people think they are? That they can say whatever they want. I know there will always be jerks in the world, but it does not make it any easier. :(

How rude and terrible!! People amaze me! But here is the thing. Although losing weight may stop the moo'ing noises from ignorant jackasses...it won't cure MEAN. There will always be something or someone that will comment negatively about something and potentially hurt your feelings. From this day forward...hold your head high, be proud of your accomplishments thus far, work on self esteem and self worth. I promise....MEAN won't ever affect your identity!

Jules.... please don't let the actions of one pea-brain a*****e determine your self worth. You have made a great decision to have WLS to get your health in order and become who you are destined to be.

Jerks like that are a dime a dozen... Keep your chin held high, embrace every pound you have loss and every future pound you lose.

Take care..

Sadly enough that person is just mean and he will be mean to someone else for some other reason throughout HIS pathetic life. Good job to your friend for saying something to him. People like that get away with it all too often!

I know for me when someone does something mean I try to go out of my way to do something NICE for someone else. It only takes one good deed to make someone else smile. Eventually all those nice acts will overtake those RUDE beings we must deal with.

Hold your head high!

Ok, memorize this phrase for the next time you experience this rude behavior: I can lose the weight, but your stupidity is forever!

I love that your friend had such a great comeback. Take care and don't let the jerks get you down!

I'm so sorry that you had to deal with that BS. The old "sticks and stones may break my bones, but names will never hurt me", isn't really true, is it?

I agree with everyone above..... That guy is a bottom dweller, and either he will continue his life as an ignorant low life, or someday he will "find religion" (metaphorically speaking). Either way, those types will continue to walk the earth, and it's most important that you find strength within yourself, and cultivate a strong sense of self worth.

Jules, just try & focus on what you are doing for YOU. Stay strong within yourself, and keep your eye on the big picture. You are moving toward a healthier life, and with every pound lost, you will gain a pound of self esteem.

PS: LOVE what your friend said. It was perfect :-)

It's sad that grown adults can act like that. I figured they must miserable people to want to act that way. It doesn't change the fact that it hurts. It's amazing how a comment from a total stranger can hurt so bad. I too am a big believer in Karma though!! Keep your head held high and he will get his.

People are so ignorant today until its not even funny. I know it took everything for you not to turn around and do something. Glad you took the high road. I would have loved to see the look on his face though when your friend turned around and said that. "priceless"

I am sorry that someone was rude to you in that way.. Sadly I think our current society has some of the rudest and disrespectful people in it ever. I took grandkids to a rodeo one night.. grown men sitting behind us were f'ing this and f'ing that.. I finally had enough and stood up and asked them if they did not see the children? or do they kiss their mama with those mouths? they started to get smart with me about the time my 6'4 " son in law walked up... lol they shut up and moved..You hate to have confrontation with people but I think people are too scared to say anything to rude people.. thank goodness your friend wasn't scared... that's okay you know in your heart who is the best person and Karma is a interesting thing.. what goes around comes around eventually...
