Do you think that emotional baggage can set you back on your weightloss? lately I have been trying to find ways to let petty things go such as being annoyed that someone isn't doing something the way I do it. Its not even me! I am not them and they aren't me so why do I care so much? I am not sure how to let it all just go and not compare myself to others or critize others. I am no better than anyone else and we all put our pants on the same. I just gotta figure out how to let it all go...I guess I should join a support group...Its so hard finding ones out here and the one they do offer from my doctors office I always forget or when I do think about it ...it is too late

I will figure this out....just gotta worry about me and my family and that alone.

For some people emotions won't set them back, but for me I believe the answer would be yes. I am on Paxil for an anxiety disorder. Before I started getting treated I felt like I had to be in control of everything or I was going to bust. I would eaisly get frustrated and irritated. I wasn't happy with that life. I spoke to my doctor about it and he suggested Paxil. I wasn't thrilled with taking meds, but I tried it because I was sick of living like that. My life has gotten so much better, I am happy and can let things roll off my back and I don't get so worked up over things.

While yes, SSRI's can cause you to gain weight the reason is mostly because it increases your hunger. I haven't had much trouble with it, I have lost 50 lbs in 7 months. (starting at 244).

I go almost to every support group at the hospital. They are the same day every month and they are great. I have them in my calendar book for the year and work around them. Most months my husband joins me and he has learned a lot, too. They are extremely helpful and no one judges you, they help a real lot.
