We are raising 2 of our grandson's ( have been for about 10 years ) the 11 year old has Down Syndrome and we are both hooked on popcorn. He asks me every night if its "popcorn time" lol. I tell him not for a few more days. I will be one month out on Dec 8th and almost down 20 pounds. Is popcorn ok if eaten slowly and not to much??? Has anyone ever had a problem with eating it??? My PA said its ok to eat but curious if anyone has had any problems. My grandson is a joy in our lives and he really wants POPCORN :)

Very nice of you to raise your grandsons. I understand mental illness, I have a 68 year brother, I am 62, who I help take care of who now lives in elderly housing since our mother is in a nursing home. Bless you, it is not easy.

Now about popcorn, I had about 1/2 cup a few weeks ago and chewed real well and it agreed with me. Good luck and let your grandson eat some!

I was a year out before I started eating popcorn. Pop corn is one of the foods that can be a slider for some folks, it dissolves well for some but the kernals can be a problem for others. I would not recommend in early band stage, you need to stick with the healthy foods and leave the snacks for later after you start really eating better. Just an opinion, can you eat it, the answer would be yes, you can eat anything as long as you chew it well and it goes down, is it a good choice this early in your journey, no.
