So my 2 year anniversary passed and I feel like I gained all my weight back  (look at my pics)...

I don't know what to do every time I go for a fill (don't have one at all, was sick in January and got it taking out) they would cancel because of an emergency surgery Seriously thinking about getting Gastric Bypass Surgery. Don't wanna go through the whole thing again but I feel bad.... I weigh 309 and that hasn't changed since May, and I weighed 315 when I got the surgery. :(

Hi,

I had my band done in August of 2009. At first I was doing really great and went from 254 pre- band weight to at the time of my band. Then went down to 200. I was extremely happy and motivated and the monthly follow up visits and weigh ins were encouraging. I don't know what happened. I started making poor food choices, stopped working out as much after hip surgery in 2011. Before you know, the weight crept back on. I am considering having the bypass.

I haven't been back to my surgeon, because I feel like such a failure. Sweets and milkshakes are the devil, but the sure do go down easy. Uuugh!!!

I feel your pain, but I guess we have to get back on track. My dietician recommended to me previously, that I could do a week of just protein shakes and liquids to help kick start the diet again.

Maybe we can start together. I'm also gonna start going back to the surgeon's office. I'm definitely one who needs constant supervision and monitoring when it comes to this weightloss thing.

The band is not for everyone, there are a lot of rules that have to be followed and embraced in order to be successful. First thing I would suggest is that you make an appointment with your surgeon and discuss your options. Maybe meeting with a nutritionist and a physcologist would help you to get back on track and restart the process. But first and foremost you must make a committment to your self to be accountable to the process. This is hard, none of us has an easy time with food or none of us would have gotten to this site and this surgery. To me obesity and addicts are very simiar, we just do legal drugs, FOOD! Giving up what has been our turn to, or comfort zone is hard, it is hard to hold yourself accountable. Even if you do decide to have the Gastric bypass you still need to get your head in the right place because making sure you really understand your self, your triggers is key to long term success with WLS. If I can help support in any way please let me know and I wish you luck with your choice.
