I had the same issue as you. For me, whether I go with CIBO or SWLC , I would have to pay for my fills/defills, since I'm from Montreal and driving more than 6 hours every time might be a tad ridiculous for me. However, there's something I would like to clear up, both CIBO & SWLC are free for fills/defills when you go to their facility. I chose SWLC for the surgeon and the fact that they have more nurses and physicians trained in other provinces. I'm a travel nurse, so I need that. However, the program for CIBO is awesome and as you mentioned it's a lifetime aftercare. If I could have gotten Dr. Cobourn with CIBO's program, I would have thought I hit the jackpot.Either way whatever decision you make I think it will be a great choice.... Just a question, what did you think about the surgeons at CIBO? I think they have a great program, but I feel like I need to learn more about how much experience their surgeons have and I have not found much reviews on past patients about their after care. SWLC, most people comment about the treatment they received regarding the after care, as with another clinic not to be named lol...there are tons more neg. feed backs about their aftercare then others. So I would love to hear feed backs from past CIBO patients.

I know there's a couple of people on here who got banded by CIBO, maybe you can contact one of them. For me, I never got to speak to the surgeon at CIBO, it was always through the Patient Coordinator. I hope some of those who got banded with them will give you some feedback;)

Haven't dealt with either of these two clinics, but I can tell you that if you are going to be going in for fills every 6 weeks at first, and then occasionallly after that, I don't know that I would worry so much about after care, as I would about finding a surgeon who has performed many, many ops. My surgeon's office provides many opportunities to attend free support group meeting with psychologists and nutrionists, and I find that very, very helpful. Also, my doctor is laid back about dieting the weeks before and after the surgery. (Some doctors put you on nothing but protein shakes for 3 weeks before and very regimented 6-week liquid diet afterwards). Sure, I followed my doctors orders, but it was easy -- two shakes a day, followed by a low fat protein rich diet for two weeks before; then, a progressive diet going from all liquids one day to full liquids, soft foods and then finally mushies. No big deal. Just find the doc that shares your beliefs.
