I call it "just a waitin'", while I wait to begin my journey with my lapband (who I've named Gertrude, or Gertie for short) HAHA. I can barely wait to go to Mexico and get Gertie installed. I wonder where she is right at this moment? Probably on a shelf somewhere in TIjuana... I have made all of the arrangements, my passport will be here in 2 wks at the most. My mugg shot for the passport was hideous, they may think I'm trying to flee the country!!! I looked like a hardened criminal. I didn't put on make up that morning (which is rare), and I look scarey! I have everything in order, all the numbers on my cell phone that I could ever need while out there. The trip in itself is quite an ordeal for me, never have been any further west than St. Louis Mo. So I'm pretty excited. I have a good friend going who had lapband 3 years ago, she lost 80 pounds or so, ( met her goal weight). She's also a nurse, we work together. So I think i'll be in good hands through the entire trip. We're staying a total of 2 nights in San Diego, and one night in Tijuana the night of surgery, of course. I have 8 days off work after the procedure, this is my vacation this year. I will be able to not lift anything at work so don't have to go on "light duty" or anything. I do lifting now, but will be able to get around doing it (the director of nursing said it was okay, I checked).. I was concerned that they might not let me work but all is good there... .We even bought our Sea World tickets already! I've ALWAYS wanted to see Killer whales, sharks, and dolphins. It's been a dream of mine to pet/feed a dolphin, and be splashed by a Killer whale. And well,as far as the sharks go, I just wanna look at them.HAHA Well thanks for listening to my jumbled thoughts... gotta go to work.
