Why don't you just tell your boyfriend he don't have to lie. Just tell those who ask that you are just watching what you eat and eating like your supposed to. Small bites and eating slowly. I personally have told everyone I know, because I feel like it will make me be accountable, and more apt to go by the rules, because who wants to fail in front of people who all have something negative to say about it anyway. I feel the same way. I only want to tell people I want to tell. People I can trust not to say anything and judge. People have a way of judging. It is your surgery and your decision as to who to tell and why. To me it is a private thing.

That's too bad that he wants you to tell. It is really your place to say anything. I know I told my bosses at work, but not the woman i work closest with. My bosses were very nice to keep it to themselves, not always the case. My boss had it done too but he had told everyone. I just didnt want to tell my closest co workers because we eat lunch together. I also don't want peole "watching" to see how I am doing. It's a personal journey and a personal choice. Maybe he see's it as a positive thing and wants to share the news. I agree with you though and I don't think anyone could understand unless you've done it. Has been great I would do it all over again in a minute, no regrets!
