Ugggg.... Jean Shopping

Shelleymb

Im sitting in the dressing room at Macy's feeling defeated. All I needed was a pair of jeans for work.... I wear yoga pants at home because I'm so fat, but I work on a shipyard and I have tO wear jeans.

You know the moment when you pull the jeans up to your knees and you instantly know they aren't going to fit? Or when you finally find a pair that you can pull up the whole way and manage to button up and you're working wIth muffin top, camel toe, or they are so wide in the leg you can't see your feet? I pretty much hate myself right now. I hate buying jeans based on how long it will take me to tailor them to my body. Good thing I'm a good seamstress I guess.

The next six months can't fly by fast enough.

I hated jean shopping! I used to always go to Old Navy because their jeans seemed to fit best, but I would leave feeling defeated every time. I found one style and size, and that's all I would get!!

I'm one month post-op, and let me tell you, being able to go to any store and pull out a size 16's feels SO good. I still cringe in the dressing room, thinking I'm CRAZY for trying them on, but then when they fit perfect, there's hardly a better feeling!!

You'll get there!!

I absolutely feel your pain. Buying pants is one of the most annoying and frustrating things ever. I too can not wait to be able to just go in a store and no matter what find something. Soon....

Have you tried Lane Bryant's? I had luck there. I'm 5'4'' and 256 lb. Good luck. I know what you're going through. You will succeed. This is just one of those painful steps we take on the road to recovery.

I love the Lane Bryan jeans, they have short, tall and all kinds of fits. I really like the fit of their straight leg jeans, very flattering.

I now what you mean. I all my fat is in my front and I have no butt so my jeans are always tight around the waist but look too big in the thighs and butt. I plan on living in stretchy clothes until summer is over.

Shelley.... we have ALL been in that dressing room... crying, and looking at ourselves in the mirror thinking.... How did i get here? How did i let myself go like this....

But, there is a silver lining.... you have made the choice to change your life... Forever!! You journey has just begin, and if you take everything serous and follow all the rules, you will be in a size 10 or smaller by this time next year or sooner.

I cried out with joy the day i was able to fit in a size 10.... New York and Co. jeans. Then it was a size 8... now a size 6.. from a 20 to a 6. It took 2 1/2 years, but i did it and so can you.

You can do it....
