I didn't have to but after the fill I had to do soft foods for 24 hours. Not sure thats any help tho....

Here are some basic guidelines from the lapband.com web site. This site is full of valuable information for new bandsters. In the early months of my journey I lived on this web site and have read pretty much all the articles. I wanted to be as informed as I could be so I could be successful in my journey and work through the frustrations. My doc says not to eat a big lunch before coming in and eat about 3-4 hours before my appt. So far, so good.

I got my appt via email and it said not to eat for 4 hours before the fill and no drinks for an hour before the fill
