It's been 4-5 wks since I was banded & I'm only down 5 lbs. I lost 11 on the liquid diet after surgery but have gained 6 of it back. I rarely feel full but I do get stuck at times & have to throw up. I get my first fill in 12 days & I'm wondering if this will fix it? Has anyone experienced this? I had the band that allows the surgeon to give me a fill at placement, he gave me 2 cc's at surgery. I'm worried I'm not going to see results:'(

I have not been banded yet, but here is a great reference for you on UTube and search lapband 2012 so many banders experiences. Here are some pointers that I have researched. Eat with a baby spoon. Eat on a small plate. Dont eat and drink at the same time. CHEW YOUR FOOD 30 TIMES EACH BITE! Don't over eat as soon as you feel yourself full STOP EATING! Start to exercise when your wounds heal. Dont be discouraged, you're just starting out! it took me TWO years to lose 110 poounds and I'm up 30 now...The above mentioned pointers from Rosetoyou1960 are SPOT ON. Sounds like you need two things: 1) more protein and 2) another fill.

Try to find a post op support group and start making little changes, like parking further away from your destination, taking the stairs in addition to doing what's menitoned above (the no drinking and eating worked really well for me!!!)

Don't give up, remember the band is just a tool, you stillhave some work to do! Good luck and keep in touch!!!

Dear discouraged. Weeks 4-6 after the lapband are very difficult because that is when you are able to eat anything. You have to remember you had this surgery for a reason (To get healthy) Eat healthy during this time frame. Once you get a fill you will indeed start noticing the difference. However, you MUST be careful on regurgitating as you could eventually cause your band to slip in the later years. You must eat small meals and chew thoroughly. You keep getting your fills and once you get to your green zone you are going to love life. I DO :)

dont be discouraged. this is a slow proceess. i know you want it to happen like right now..(and trust me we all do), but it's gonna take some time before you get to good restriction and for your body to adjust. i am a slow loser, but be patient and faithful to your journey...make sure you're working out and doing your part and it will happen. you can do this..we are right here with you

I'm discouraged also! The amount of food & calories I have each day should equal weight loss, but not happening. I'm 4 1/2 wks too; only down 5 pounds

Here is my story. before I had my surgry I worried about the fact that I would not be able to cheeseburgers and fries again. I cried to my husband one night and he asked me what was the matter. I thought before I told him, and admitted to myself also, I said I don't want to be fat anymore. It was then that I knew that I had to change the way I was eating, not just what I eat, but how I eat. I started before I had surgury using a baby spoon and eating from a saucer instead of a regular plate. Chewing my food and counting 30 times. There is one thing you don't want to do is have food stuck and throw it up. That will cause problems down the line. Just keep thinking you don't want to be fat.
