Three Weeks Post Op And Weight Gain!

jrob2and2

I've only had three weeks out and I don't want to get discouraged. Is there anyone that can tell me that this is normal. The day of my surgery I weighed in at 226, this morning, I am at 230. My weight has been slowly inching up after my initial lost. I am confused because I exercise almost everyday. I have run up to two miles and walked up to three miles. I have done some resistant training with the bands and with my own body. I have joined my fitness pal to keep track of my caloric intake and I never go over 1000 calories, to be frank, I usually don't come close to that. I have to admit, I don't drink enough water and I am working on that, but I don't know what else to do. Should I just wait? I am reading everyday how others are losing this or that and many of you have said just be patient. My first fill will be April 2, I am trying to see if anything changes by then. My family and friends keep asking have I lost anything yet and I get frustrated. I expected at least six lbs by now. I know everyone's journey is different. Can anyone relate?

I understand where you are coming from. I I have only lost 2 lbs in the last 5 weeks. I am keeping my cal around 1000 cal and working out 5 days a week. I can't understand it, but I can accept it. What else can we do? I chalk it up to my years of extreme yo yo dieting and being in my 40s. Even though the weight isn't coming off I can tell that my body is reshaping - my clothes are getting looser. It will come off as long as we keep working the band correctly and exercising. If you haven't gone too much over your regular caloric intake I would bet that it is just water weight and will leave as quickly as it came.

I am 2 1/2 weeks post op and not losing either, but I know this is how it goes so it's all good. My goal is to just maintain as I could easily just pig out right now. I figured I have already made the commitment to do this and have lost 26 poounds up to this point, why completely blow it because it is normal. I surely am going to try to maintain. We will get there. We haven't even really started yet, so hand tight. The best is yet to come!!!

It's the same for me and I know its normal..but yes its very very annoying! I have people asking me all the time how much I've lost and all I can say is that I've only lost inches because I exercise everyday...the weight really hasn't come off and its been almost 2 months since my surgery. I've had one fill, and it didn't do anything...I still have no restriction. My next fill isn't until April 5th. Originally my appointment was for the 12th but I told them I had to change it so that I could get in sooner! I cant wait until this next fill...but who knows if it's even gonna give me restriction...that's why they call this "bandster hell"...everybody keeps telling me that. You just have to have willpower right now I guess.

You are ALL right. I guess some of us have it a little harder. Maybe a true test to our ability to stick with it for a lifetime. Eventually it has to come off. I think that going through intense means to lose weight such as WLS is what has me to think that I should see results sooner. I thought that if I went in with the mind set of giving my all, my efforts would show. Thanks for the support.

Some things to keep in mind; Are you a little "backed up"? How much salt is in your diet? More water would definitely help you with both. Also if you are eating a lot of sugar free things the artificial sweetners may not be well tolerated by your body and they could lead to bloating and water retention. Just a thought, good luck.

I agree with Jerseygirl82 only I would add. Are you eating any carbs. Stay away from them for at least 6 months. Its been 2 years for me and I am down 99 pounds. Good Luck do not give up
