Bad, Bad Weekend...but Some Good News!

Okay so this weekend, I was a mess. I didn't eat much, but for the first time since surgery, I drank alcohol. Not just one or two, but 5 drinks! I am NOT a drinker! I went out with a friend dancing, and I was hoping the dancing cancelled out the alcohol but who knows. I shouldn't have drank that much. I have no excuse for it other than the guy in my life upsetting me and I just needed to have some fun. I won't make that mistake again. I'll try to find another way to release my frustration! Also, last night, I ate some things at my moms that I shouldn't have. Sooo much guilt! :-(

Anyways, besides all that, I lost almost a pound over the weekend bringing me to exactly 50% of weight loss. Meaning, I'm half way there! And in only 4 months! I still only lost less than 2 pounds in one week. That's below my average so I'm a little worried. It's probably due to the over consumption of alcohol. Uuggghh! I'm worried my weight loss is starting to slow down. I've still been working out really hard (4 to 5 times a week) and I'm doing the couch to 5k. I start my 4th week of it today. I really like that program! I'm hoping to lose at least 5 more pounds by the end of this month.

Anyways, back on the wagon today! Hoping to lose another pound or two by Thursday!

Guilt is a funny thing, we inflict this on our selves because we do not live up to our standards or someone elses. First and formost, forgive your self and learn from what happened. Remember this is not a diet, we can eat and do anything within moderation, just sometimes some choices are better than others. It is hard to change behavior, we have all had bad eating habits for a very long time or none of us would be here pouring out our inmost thoughts and feelings. It takes time and a lot of strength to say no to friends, no to family and still feel like we are part of everything. I am sure all of us could tell you a story about, drinking to much, eating the wrong foods and feeling remorse. Learning new coping behaviors for when we are frustrated or made takes time and patience. We will all get there, look how far you have come and the difference is you recognize where you went wrong and instead of ignoring it you announce it to the world. I think instead of feeling guilt you should feel proud of your self for admitting you made a mistake, you have taken a hugh step in being accountable to yourself. Good luck and remember, never beat yourself up if you’ve slipped on your journey. Pick up where you left off. Life isn’t about perfection, it should be about enjoyment and appreciating what the higher power has given you.

Thank you for the encouragement! Very much needed! :)

*(*(*hugs*)*)* I understand how you feel all too well. Yesterday I completely fell off the wagon for just about the first time since my surgery 5 months ago. I went out after work with a friend and had a glass of wine and ate over half of the snacks we ordered together, even after I had ALREADY gone 65 calories over my 1200 for the day before I even got there. UGH. BUT, I completely agree with LoveTheNewMe, forgive yourself, let it go, and just keep moving forward. It's really hard, but I know we BOTH can do it! <3
