Starting Over

Hi Everyone.

I'm new to the blog but not to the band. In Feb 2009, I was banded, 1 week later, I found out I was pregnant. Baby came in October, Surgeon was "disgusted' that I did not lose but 30lb while I was pregnant, was rude and had terrible bedside manner..... Long story short, I KICKED HIM TO THE CURB. Since 2010, I had not seen anyone about my band ( gained 20lbs back).

This year I wanted something new, so I did some homework and found a wonderful doctor who has taken over my care. She has given new hope.

I went to see her to discuss everything and make sure I was in good hands and yesterday I recieved my first fill since 2010. :D 3cc.

I ate clear liquids yesterday and today. I'm terrified to move forward. I have a lump in my throat( probably fear)........ Any suggestions/advice on how to move forward??

After my situation, I just want to be sucessful

Glad your back on track, and glad you found a physician you can work with. Have a good medical support is improtant with WLS patients. The lump you feel in the back of your throat may be the sensation of how some of us feel after a fill. You need to ease your self back into the program and remember to always eat your protein first, chew, chew and chew some more. Drink plenty of water, eat off of a small plate and learn to work the plan with smaller portion, if hungry between meals grab some low calorie protein and stay away from sliders and junk food. Good luck to you.

Congratulations with your decision to refocus yourself on loosing weight! Though I have yet to experience a fill, I have had the sensation of feeling "the lump in the throat". I found drinking some hot tea or clear broth helps to relax me.

Best of luck!! :)

I agree with LovetheNewMe. I was also banded in June of 2009. I remember when you found out about the pregnancy. The best thing is you want control again. With the band you will have that control. Must remember to follow the rules. Take small bites and chew, chew chew to beat the band. Eat slow and do not drink with meals. Blog as much as you can because it helps in the honesty department. I was told people who blog tend to do better than people who don't keep in touch with others about their journey. I recommend small meals with protein first. I eat real food non of that processed junk in packages, as my body just does not know how to digest it. Water is key. You will get a ton of support here welcome back big time. Best wishes imaluckydog
