Today has found me slightly miffed about everything. I am so over this damn rash I got from the allergic reaction to the Loratab! I am no longer itchy, now my skin is peeling!! It is like I had a bad sunburn and I am peeling everywhere. So long sleeves it will be until this madness is over. I am trying the Miralax to see if things will get going. I am annoyed about that also..... The gas pain in my shoulder seems to come back to visit me everyday around the same time. Pain tends to make me very moody and unfriendly, so I have been laying low until I can get it under control.

Wednesday will be two weeks and I am really not hungry. I can start mushies that day, however I really am not that excited about it at this point. I have lost five pounds and I know that I should not be worried about losing weight at this point. But it does irk me when I see people who are at the same point I am and they have lost 10-15 pounds already. My hubby pointed out that I lost almost 20 pounds before my surgery so my body is probably adjusting at this point..... Sigh....... I suppose he could be right. I will be glad when I can get back to the gym and when I get my first fill, so I can get the ball rolling.

Hang in there. Losing 20 pounds before surgery is awesome! Keep in mind that you still have some swelling and fluid retainment. I bet you will wake up one day soon and you will have lost several pounds. Be patient, by having the surgery you have already made a change in your life for the better. Everyone is different. Good luck, and keep your chin up!

the gas pain lasted for me about 2 weeks it was awful, walking helped alot, i also lost 18 lbs before surgery and then 5 lbs with the pre op diet so 23 lbs before surgery, i was banded 5 months ago and i have lost 20 lbs since surgery. I am a slow loser but I have learned not to compare my weight loss to others as you shouldnt either. we are all different and just because someone is losing fast doesnt mean you are doing something wrong, we all are made up chemically and anatomy wise very differenty. I have pcos and diabetes which slows me down as well and I choose not to exercise. you have made a good choice and you are doing fabulous so far, keep up the good work and remember that positive is as positive does. dont compare yourself or beat yourself up, be glad you have accomplished the weight loss that you have and run with it. the turtle might be slow but he still finishes the race. good luck to you and keep your head up. god bless

that rash sounds horrific:( my hubby has the same kind of thing when he had his gall bladder removed and he had major skin sloughing especially on his hands and feet...i have only lost 8 lbs since surgery and the scale has been stuck for several days now...i am still eating under 1000 calories and have even started working out...well what i call working out!! getting on the treadmill!!! any word on when you will get your first fill? one good thing is you are not experiencing any hunger because i am ...trying to not gain any weight...keep ya head up...things will fall into place:)

Southern Girl, we all understand how you feel. I also had gas for a while the initial weeks after surgery, Gas-x and phenergan were my best friends. I rarely needed any pain pills at all the gas pains were the worst for me. I ate so many Gas-x I thought I would become toxic. Each of us is individual, if you were to compare more do not lose weight before their first fill and if you read the literature this is suppose to be our healing time. This is as stated above a life time commitment and we would all like to wake up skinny, because I have always said, "I went to bed one night and woke up fat" It is also ok to be frustrated, and to whine and complain. I went through months of feeling sorry for my self because I could not eat like everyone else and than one day my brain finally caught up with my emotions. I still have occasional days that I feel irritated with what I can eat and not eat. Good luck to you and just remember we all have these days and moments and voicing it on here is better than eating. Good luck and we are all here so each of us can succeed.
