I was banded on Tuesday, 2/21/12 and had a great experience at the hospital.

Yesterday was a little rough...the excess gas was really bad and extremely uncomfortable. Finally last night it started to ease up and this morning, I feel wonderful. I actually got up and took a shower....I feel human again!

I can't believe I've started this journey....my world has been in a whirlwind since January 5th (my 1st appt with my surgeon). My insurance company (BCBS of MA) was incredible easy in granting approval without having to jump through so many hoops and 6 weeks later I've already got my band....

I can't wait to see what the next few weeks has in store for me....bring it on!!!!!!!

hi..welcome aboard. I got banded feb 9,2012 so i am just a little further post op. i will say , the further you get from your surgical date the better life gets.. the gas that was so distressing the first days ( and the nausea and the bloating) are GONE. The ability to bend over without feeling you are losing your insides is also GONE. THe pain at the port site is just minor now and the hunger pangs are essentially GONE. and guess what.. there's an unexpected side effect of all this.. as the pounds come off,, all the little joint aches and pains are also GONE!!! Stick with it.. and one day.. all those big old moo moo dresses will be gone too. Best of luck

Thanks for all the words of encouragement. Today has been a good day....I've really had to make myself drink, as I just really don't want anything.....well I don't know if it's that I don't want anything or I'm just hesitant to put stuff in my stomach, but I'm working on it.

i was also banded tuesday the feb 21 2012 yesterday was a rough day weak feeling the port area wicked sore today i slept most of the morning, and by noon i got up walked around the house and sat at the kitchen table with the lap top for a bit, i also took my 1st shower tonight got real weak and said "screw it i want to lay down" i think having no protein made me feel weaker. i start 2nd phase tomorrow with protein drinks i really hopes that helps some i feel ok it is the weakness that get to me.i hope we can chat back and forth since we got the banding on the same day.

KIm....I would love to stay in touch. I had somewhat of a rough night last night. I just couldn't get comfortable and rest.

My left side is really tender and I think I'm still dealing with the gas from the surgery..it is terribly uncomfortable.

I can tell a little difference each day and my incisions look really good....i only have 2...one just below my breastbone and one at my belly button. i think my dr is a genius...don't think i will even have much of a scar from the upper incision.

hope you are feeling well today...i think I'm going to tackle the shower.....i'm starting to get cabin fever and it's pouring rain here this morning.

I just had surgery Feb 29. 2012, the first day, I did not want to gtalk to anyone. My chest felt tight, and naseau was bad. Im going in and out of hunger, but I think its my mind. Did not take a shower yet just a bird bath. Im nervous about when I have to go back to work. Mentally it stresses me out, and makes me eat, and now I cant eat those foods I use to. I will just have to get use to it.
