Snap Crackle And Pop!

Well it was bound to happen. My surgery was January 10th and I've done great. And then there was today! I own a photobooth company and had a big wedding show today. Needless to say, my business partner was sick and unable to attend so my stress level was definitely rising. It didn't help matters that I was running way late. So I thought I would make a smart choice and stop at my local QT and get a turkey sandwich. I thought this would be a better choice than the myriad of wedding cake samples that I knew would be lerking at every cake vendors table. Not sure what I was thinking choosing a turkey on WHEAT. Ever since my first fill, wheat is NOT my friend. Well four hours later as I returned home I was starving! I peeked my eyes into a white bag on the counter and what did my wandering eyes did appear? But a great big square rice krispie treat from Fudrucker's restaurant!

Based on the look on my step-son's face, you know the one- raised eyebrow and head tilted cockeyed, I realized I was devouring it like a crack addict getting high after being discharged from rehab! I thought, "what the hell is wrong with me?". Why now? I've sacrificed, I've planned, I've tracked every morsal of food, I've lost 29lbs for the love of Peter, Mary and Joseph!

After thoroughly enjoying, rather inhaling the rice krispie treat I realized, "Ok Maggie. Whats done is done. Get back to the plan and knock that sh*t off!" Ahhh THE PLAN. THAT is precicely what I failed to do this morning. My life is different. My stomach is different. What I can eat is different. If I don't plan, I know I fail. So I'm committing to myself to re-focus on planning.

PS: If it makes anyone feel better who is thinking about eating a nice big sugery treat after they've been "sugar sober" for about a month- I DON'T RECOMMEND IT! I felt like crap after eating it. I don't miss those days of feeling like sludge!

We've been so used to inhaling, gulping, shoveling, (storing in our cheeks) food for so long, it was an easy slip. so easy. I have to remember to take small bites even with a baby spoon. Right now I worry about planning the days meals, enough prooein, veggies, starches, the timing of the meals.. enough liquids, and then to handle the days stresses, yea, its a big juggle..

The biggest thing is that you realized your error and felt the reprocussions, and you arent likely to do that again (at least for a while) I love your posts girl!

I feel you on this as I devored girl scout cookies and valenitne candy like it was going out of style. I could digest them without difficulty but I vomit if I eat meat. I cant digest it at all.I need some tips on planing meals and what is a good way to learn to eat like a cat. I still have a hardtime with the graising issues.I want to eat a cheesburger so bad I can smell it at night. Getting use to the lifestyle change can be challenging. Love your post as I feel the after math of the cookies and candies.

Just thought I'd tell you about my cheeseburger experience. I have had three fills by this point.... I was craving a double cheesburger from Macdonalds. Well, I finally gave in and got one oh and some fries too... I ate two french fries and thought I was going to die. So, I thought if I drank something it would feel better, WRONG!!!! I got very sick and my husband had to pull over on the side of the road so I could get it all out. I felt much better, but I still hadn't taken a bite of the cheeseburger. I took a very very small bite everything was fine I waited a couple of min then I took another one and once again I thought I was going to die... My poor hubby had to pull over again.

I want you to know that it just isn't worth hurting over. This last fill has done me in. Before it I could eat what I wanted with out much problem.

Good luck on the cravings I still have them too.

I did the same ting only I was driving and my son didn't want his cheeseburger. so use to eating what they wont, here was a perfectly untouched cheeseburger. Took two bites. feel odd. then for some crazy reason took two more. Thought I was going to die and tried to wash it down. Even worse. Finally coughed it up into my hand on the PA turnpike. Not my best momment.

Yesturday, after haivng my first fill last week, was talked into going to an new asian buffet by my kids. No wise. I was somewhat good. Mostly because I got stuck on my first bite of meat. had to wait a good fifteen mintues to try to eat anything else. End up eating the kids unwanted items again. Have to get over the "don't waste food" monolog going on in my brain. Still only ate about 1/2 a plate of food, more then I should have, felt ill afterward too. The kids did ate really well and more then made up for the fact that I didn't eat my $10 worth. But don't think we will be doing that again.

It is hard to remember not to fall into old habits or what may actually still be our habits. They are the ones we are trying to overcome. It isn't easy to think before you eat and think when you eat so that you can learn a new method of eating. It's O.K. move onward!

Old habits are what got me fat to begin with, but boy are they sure hard to break! I'm batteling the voice in my head going, you can only eat at most 1 c at a meal so you better eat it all or you will be hungry later. I need to learn that even if I only eat three bites of a boca burger and I'm full, to STOP. I need to let Prudence do her job. Its a work in progress for sure!
