You're not supposed to have problems swallowing or problems eating bread, rice, and pasta. True some do, but that isn't a sign of not being tight enough. Many have good restriction and can still eat about anything- just smaller portions.

I would suggest keeping a food journal so you can see exactly what you're eating and how much. This way you'll be able to see if maybe you're consuming too much carbs or fat. You can eat tiny amounts of food and still not lose weight if the food you're eating isn't good for you. This should help you to figure out if you need a fill, or possibly a change in diet.

You may want to bring the journal to your nutritionist for pointers, too.

listen to Ladybug..... and stay away from the bad stuff....i'm one of the ones that can not eat Bread, Rice... etc even in small bites. I've been that way from fill #4. I have the 14cc band and i have 10.5cc in now..... at one point i had 10.9... but the doctor said over the two year some has evaporated... humm well that's his story and he's sticking to it....

So if you break it down.... you have lost 28 in 4 months. that's an average of 7 per month and 2 per week..... you are right on track. What was your start weight.

In my opinion .... the first few months are the hardest. Most of us have very little fill in our band and this is were you need SELF DISCIPLINE.....not saying you don't have that, but.... if you are still eating the "bad stuff" you need to rethink how you are using your band. Your plate should be 3/4 protein, 1/8 veggies, 1/8 carbs. But, by them time you eat your protein and then the veggies.... you probably should not even be hungry for the carbs....My nutritionist said i should eat all the protein first then veggies then carbs...

I will admit that i still do eat carbs, potatoes and some pastas about once a week or so. I try and stay with the sweet potatoes and whole wheat, but not all the time it is available. I do eat crackers... 90% of the time is the Crunchmaster multi grain crackers... but that's about it.

When i got it thru my thick skull that she is right.... i started losing and when i got off my ass and started really exercising.... i started really losing.

So good luck

I have to agree with Ladybug...stay away from the pastas, breads, rice and potatoes...they really add the pounds.

for many bandster's carbs spell bad news because they don't slide thru the band like pastas or rice or dense breads cuz they absorb fluids and get spongy. Or they liquify cuz they are mostly suggar like cakes and chcolates and just slide right thru meaning lots of calories can get in and the band is ineffective.

As my nutritionist put it to me bread is like a sponge and they use to stuff bread in a cup then put water on it then show the client how nothing else would get thru, but that got expensivve.

Also if you have insulin resistance or have pcos, carbs are a bad idea because they cause your insulin to spike to much and can cause the bad hungry cycle wich puts the weight on big time. Trust me once you get yourself off of the simmple carbs and suggars you will be fine, but the first few weeks might stink.

hang in there i know you can do this.

Have you started to exercise yet? I also upped my protein intake when I stalled out in the weight loss department. Both together got it really going. You have done an awesome job so far and don't ever forget that you are better with the band than you ever were without it. You have lost 28 pounds in 4 months. I am proud of you. What is your ultimate goal?
