Surgery Is Monday!

miracleshappen

So I have been on the liquid diet for 9 days now. My surgery is schedule for Monday and I am ready to go. I have come to terms with the fact that having surgery does not mean that I am a failure or that I was not doing what I needed to in the past. It is just another tool available to me to work toward a healthier life. I am blessed with a wonderful support group and am grateful for this blog.

I just had my band placed this past Monday. All is going well so far. Just listen to what they tell you remember everybody is different.

You are not a failure and never have been. Just like if we want to build a house we need a hammer and nails without one of those tools it just wouldn't work very well.

Best of luck. Karen

Thank you so much and my prayers are with both of you. @Karen...how is your port site? My doctor said that is generally the most painful area.

Have been at my son's basketball tournament all weekend long. Never thought I would be walking by concessions in search of fat free milk to make my shake! Although my poor husband has been on the receiving end of a few outburst we are keeping a light heart and finding humor in my current situation. May seem odd to some but I have found that it is necessary to learn how to laugh at myself and not take everything so seriously. Friends are coming tomorrow for Super Bowl Sunday and have asked what I hate but others would like to eat. I am looking forward to having people around as I am sure my anxiety will be up for Monday.

You will learn to laugh a lot at yourself on this journey but it is great! I told Dr Kureshi that he was the instrument that God used to give me the miracle that I had prayed for so long.....The lapband is a tool, if you take control immediately and do what the Dr says to do you will be successful on the trip.
