Bandster Hell Or Real Fire

Hopeful to be full

Dear LapBand World,

Here's my story I started out at 257lbs and lost 10 pre-op. On November 30th the day of surgery I weighed 247lbs. In the two weeks after surgery I lost 10 more lbs and was down to 237. Since then I have only lost 2 more lbs. I had my first fill January 12th and haven't really noticed a differance in restriction. I have a 14 cc band and my doctor fills only 1 cc at a time.THE REASON I AM WRITING ALL THIS IS BECAUSE I'M NOT LOOSING LIKE I THOUGHT I WOULD. I have only lost 22 lbs so far and most of it was shortly before and shortly after banding. IS THIS BANDSTER HELL????? I try to eat what I'm supposed to by I tend to overeat, obviously or I wouldn't have needed the surgery to begin with. i know i'm eating more than i should( and i'm working on it) but i still am eating ALOT LESS THAN I USED TO. I'm worried because I see others on this forum loosing more weight and I FEEL LIKE A FAILURE. My questions are when did you start to REALLY REALLY loose weight??? AND how does restriction help with weight loss once you get it?????? I am tracking my food and exercising although i could do better with both. any other suggestions??? Should i be panicking??? or is any of this normal

Dont worry ur not the only one.. im right there with ya... i havnt lost anything the last 3 weeks since srugery, and i had my fill on the 13th...

The nurse at my office told me ill really start to feel the restriction after like the 3rd fill which was nice to know cause i didnt feel anything after....

Just keep on the right track as everyone keeps telling me and it takes time but it will.. someone told me that she noticed that she was loosing inches but the scale wasnt movin at all...

Stay positive, ur not alone in this!!!!!!!

You are not alone. I lost 12 lbs pre-op and only 3 lbs since my surgery on 12/28/11. I had 2 tacos and a Mexican pizza from Taco Bell a few days ago. It's as if I haven't even had the surgery. I have had no regurgitation or stuck episodes. I have my 1st fill on 1/26. I pray that something changes really soon mentally and/or physically.

I also havenot had any major weight loss and I can eat what I want. I will not wait for satiety before I stop and decide that I am going to loose weight.. I know that I need to exercise and watch what I eat and I am doing that now. This is week 6 for me so it is now time to start big time and do what i need to do. Yes, I can eat every thing too... like you can, but I have learned that in moderation, every thing is ok so I eat a bite, and that satisfies my desire to eat it. this was major surgery.. we have a goal. we have a tool and I am using it to my fullest advantage..

I'm starting to think that this forum/Site should have some kind of disclaimer for bandsters who have just had surgery or are having it soon. Maybe make everyone who wants to read the posts agree that they have read the disclaimer?

"WARNING"

This tool(band) may not work for many months to

come. Everyone reacts differently to the band and

most won't feel any restriction for 2-5 fills.

I know I too was blown away when after about 2 weeks I wanted to eat a plate of chicken fried steak at Black Eyed Pea(I didn't). Some people tell you to start dieting? Crap, I tried that for years and it didn't work. LOL...But, I'm confident that like many people I've met at support groups that this shall pass and one day I'll get that "fill" that transports me to the "Green Zone". I did lose 12 lbs and have kept it off but I'm still in bandster hell and looking for the exit.

Right there with ya..............

My scale hasn't moved in three weeks--I get my first fill on the 25th (2 days)....and am praying that will jump-start a little more loss.............

Working/Waiting toward/on that 'Green Zone'...........

i think everyone goes through this. it took me 5 fills and 2 unfills in 8 months to get to good restriction. i am finally down 35 pounds and i thought it should be more, but my clothing size has gone froma 20 to 14 in those 8 months. i know noone wants to hear be patient and that it's goin to happen, but thats the truth. i was so frustrated i actually broke my scale from throwing it down the stairs. as long as you are doing all you know to do, until you get good restriction its gonna be a challenge. hang in there.

Well.. i must really be in bandster hell... I had surgery on 9/14/2011 and I haven't lost a but the 10-12lbs I lost when I was on the clear liquid diet.

I bet I have most people beat on here with excersing... I work out 5 days a week (on my lunch break). I do 3 days weights, 2 days of hard core INSANITY! (I do what I can, I have a HRM to keep track). I also jog for 1 hour on saturday and sundays at home. I have been working out since Oct 2011 and still nothing lost!

I must admit, I have done measurements, and I have lost 2 inches in my waist, but no change in clothes sizes (which I have probably been squeezing in the wrong size for awhile) needless to say the clothes are fitting better... but I feel like a total failure... esp when people are always asking me HOW MUCH HAVE YOU LOST and I can only say 10lbs!!!??? I Have had 3 fills... each had 2cc in a 11cc band...... I feel restrictions.. sometimes more so in the morning... I cannot each simple things like omlet or pancake... but than by the afternoon, I can eat pretty much anything and I do fill up quickly.

I just thought with all my work outs couple with the band at this point, I would be posting all these pictures of success, but it's not the case..... I am now thinking I made a huge mistake of paying for this myself without any results.

Ok someone save me with their story of sucess that is similar to my path because I really do think I AM IN BANSTER HELL??????

PS. I do go for my fourth fill today.......cross fingers that I see results!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
