Stuck? And An Update!

Okay since Wednesday, I have had two throwing up episodes. The first time was salad. This morning it happened again. I apologize for the TMI but I really want to know if this is the norm. I had about half an omlette, chewed and ate slowly. I started to feel uncomfortable in my chest area and next thing I knew, I was running to the bathroom. The food came up like balls and lots of slime came out too. I'm assuming this is normal. I'm a bit confused because I did what I was supposed to and I really didn't eat that much at all. Obviously, I did something wrong but I'm not sure what. Even though this part of the band is gross, it makes me super excited to know that it's working!! Also, it felt so much better after I got it out.

As an update, I was in a wedding last night. It was a lot of fun and I received lots of compliments. I hope to have pictures later. I was too busy to take any myself, but I'm sure others have some. I felt soo pretty and the dress was really flattering! This band has made me feel so much better about myself and I am grateful for that. Oh, and I also caught the bouquet for the first time ever!! And I danced my behind off (good exercise!). Anyways, I hope everyone has a great weekend!!

A lot of times stress can cause gastric issues. You're new to the band so your body might be adjusting a bit. You're doing a great job so far, sometimes we falter a bit but remaining diligent about your post surgery rules will help greatly. Good luck and hope you feel better soon :-)

You could still be swollen from Wednesdays episode. Also Eggs can be a problem for some bansters. I can eat eggs some days and others forget it. Try to eat soft foods for a day and you will feel a lot better. Keep up the wonderful work!

Sometimes I have a problem with eggs too. If I add 1/2 oz cheese to my egg whites they seem to go down easier and I don't feel them getting backed up. Last week I was getting tired of the same thing every day so I had a whole egg with 1 egg white and now realize that eggs alone will not go down as easy!

I have noticed that in the morning I always eat less. I am tighter in the morning than in the evening. when I an egg in the morning I put salsa on it to help it go down but in turn it still gets stuck at times. there is something you can buy to help with the "stuck episodes" its called papaya enzymes, I bought them at walmart. they help disolve the food that is stuck, they dont however seem to work with meat as well with other foods but great for eggs. try eating cottage cheese or yogurt in the morning and save the eggs for later in the day. hope this helped some.

I have alot of trouble with salad. Stay away from iceberg lettuce, for some reason it is hard to chew up. Also, I agree, you may still be slightly swollen, and the excitement for the wedding could be a factor too, take it easy for a few days. You might want to go back to liquids. Congratuations on the "new attitude" and NSV's galore. Karen

you sound sooo uplifted that I feel more uplifted now,THANKS! I have been banded 2 yrs and have had the same effects from eggs. So yes, for most of us eggs do seem to be a little hard to handle on some days but not all. Good Luck.
