Hi I'm Dawn and I had my lap band surgery on Dec 8th 2010. I have lost 20 pounds so far. I have stayed at this weight now for two weeks. Tomorrow I go for my first fill. I have been watching what I eat. I have tried to exercise but I have a bad ankle. I will try to work through that. I am hoping to lose another 20 pounds before the end of Feb. Any feed back would be great since all my friends have had the gastric bypass and I'm the first to get the lap band.

Protein, protein, protein, water and excercise. The more protein and calories you have the more weight you lose. Makes no sense, but it works! Also, get in your water. Even though the surgeon and nurses say only three small meals and no snacking, I see it working best for alot of people on here to have more like 6 small meals keeping to 1000 -1200 calories and excercising. Good luck to you and stay positive!

Caligalles, that's exactly what I am doing - not including the exercise. I just want to make sure my port site is completely healed because I start (I'm also being lazy). The weight is coming off slowly but surely. As someone informed me on this site - if you eat 1000-1200 calories a day, you will definitely loose weight. However, you have to stick with protein, vegetables and fruit. You, have to limit your sugar intake.
