First Timer Here! 3 Weeks Since Surgery...

This is my first entry as I just found this wonderful site! It is three weeks to the day that I had my lap-band surgery. I am feeling great (can finally roll over in bed without pain!) but I feel my appetite creeping back! My first adjustment is on Monday 1/16 - I am a little nervous about it, but excited at the same time. I have only lost 18 pounds and that plays tricks with my mind. I am eating less than 500 calories a day.... doesn't compute. I started walked about 20 minutes a day about 3 days ago and I am starting to feel better. I have a long road ahead of me, but looking forward to the once in a lifetime journey. 18 down 155 to go! Have a blessed day! Leslie

First off CONGRATS!!! you are doing great and please know don't let the scale discourage you..I was stuck on the same number on mine or 2months straight, at one point i stopped getting on it, then i had my second fill last week and am down 11 lbs in 1 week (go figure) Remember that if you slip up with your "tool" you can start over, hell we didn't gain the weight over night and won't lose it that way. I started my journey at 320lbs and am at as of today to 259 (i am so excited) it is the best thing that i could have done for myself and never would regret my decision to have the lap band..GL to you and keep up the good work

welcome and congrats. i was banded on december 1st and when i went to my first week follow up i had lost 25 pounds. but the next two weeks i lost nothing and at my third week follow up the dr said that 500 calories was not enough and increase to 800. when i increased to 800 last week, i lost the 2 pounds. may want to think about adding to the daily menu. good luck and keep up the good work

I was banded on 12/20/2011 and have went from 363(at start of liquid diet) to 345(today). I am at a stand still with loss. Talking with my doctor today, he said I might have loss inches and not pounds and that my body is still healing, so do not push it. I go for my first fill 01/20/2012. Do get discouraged,Good luck! Wish you the best.

It might help to increase your calories. I ate 800 to 1000 my first 6 months and lost 100 pounds! Since then I have increased to 1200 and have lost another 30 pounds with 12 left till goal. Sometimes not eating enough will stall your weightloss. Remember though you are in the healing stage and don't worry to much about it.
