Its Only Been A Week?!

For some reason, I feel like I have banded for longer than a week. Is it because I'm feeling like myself again and I just have sterri strips on my incisions to actually show myself that yes, I did have surgery just a week ago?

I'm tolerating food pretty well. Like today, I had 1/2 cup scrambled eggs. For lunch I had a couple bites of cottage cheese and chicken noodle soup(minus the chicken and the noodles) and for dinner 1/2 cup tuna and 3 saltine crackers. That kept me satisfied quite well so I'm not sure if I'm feeling true restriction or is my stomach still inflamed from surgery. Whatever the reason.....I'll take it.

My doctor pretty much said to take things slow, chew, chew, chew, and introduce more foods slowly.I have to keep reminding myself that it's only been a week. I need to take things slow so I don't damage anything that I've been waiting a year and half for. I've got the rest of my life with my new tool of awesomeness, so why rush?

Surprised you can eat solid foods already. My doctor said I had to stay on any foods that would go through a straw for 3 weeks while everything heals and then go to soft mushy foods for another three weeks. After six weeks can eat anything as long as chewed well and tolerated.

Very surprised you are eating too. My band was put in 12/14/11. Lost 11 lbs so far and having foods like yogurt, applesauce and protein shakes.

You are eating all the wrong stuff! You are still suppose to be on liquids....change your diet asap before you have a slip or ruin your band/stretch your pouch.

Just do jello, chicken or beef both, crystal light waters, protein shakes no bread, pasta, potatoes, or crackers!

talk to your nutritionist asap! I know everbody is diffrent, but there is noway you are healed on the inside after one week..... That may be why you are having trouble .....do be mad just trying to help .....I apologize if I (typed) rudely.....but no no no solids just yet

Banded on 12/30 and I'm on liquids for 14 days, then "mushies" for a week, then solid food the week before my 1st post-op visit (so they can see how I'm "tolerating solid food" and will know how much to fill. I did put the chicken noodle soup in the blender last night and pureed it so that it was smooth, but was too hungry and ate too much. Should've stopped at 2 oz, rather than 3!

Banded on the 29th, told only liquids for three full weeks. Hungry-yes but I drink a protein drink with up to 2 cups of skim milk over 1/2 hour and I'm good for awhile. I don't think I would do well with soft/mushy food as of yet-stomach still needs healing. I do hope that drinking up to 2 cups of anything is okay, can't just do 2 oz or so. Fitday.com or loseit.com says i'm eating around 700 calories so I should be good, so maybe you can try more protein drinks or yougurt instead of trying soft foods already.
