Hi, I had my lap band done on December 5th I came home weighing 300 today and I am 282 but I havent had any hunger. Im on full liquids still So I have an 8 oz protein shake in the am. a greek yogurt for lunch and a 8 oz protein shake in the pm, I also manage about 6-7 glasses of water through out the day. I Know you may feel like you should have lost more but you are at a great start and you're starting weight wasn't extremly high so I wouldn't stress. You are going in the right direction! :)

I would amp up your protein intake. EAS makes a drink, multiple flavors, that will get you to your 40 plus grams of protein a day.

I am worried about your protein...you need it in EVERY meal! 20 grams at three meals will give you 60. Cheese will increase it a bit in the grits and potatoes but you need beans, fish, meat, cottage cheese etc!

PS I also dont think you are getting enough calories! I think you ned at least 800/day.

Sounds like the weight is going down, but you need to make sure that you get your protein. Also, are you using something like myfitnesspal to keep up with your caloric intake and your protein. Definitely want more protein than anything else. My doctor said eat protein first, then veggies (like green veggies), then anything else. I totally agree with Xavier.

Hi sexymomma001.

It sounds like your band might be a tad too tight. Or, you are eating far too much (heavy foods) through the day. I.e., I do not think that you should be eating both grits, oatmeal and potatoes in the same day. Grits is a heavy food and so is the oatmeal. Protein shakes and potatoes are heavy as well. I think that you should see a nutritionist. also, you might need to determine if you are revisiting your old eating habits. The old habits are not going to break over-night. And the band is not the cure all to weight loss--behavioral modification is.

Hello , I was also Banded on December 1st.

This is how it went "down" for me ..

First 2weeks:

2-3 protein shakes (8oz BOOST) a day, SIPPING SLOW (no straws)

Water through out the day

Sugar Free Jello

V-8 juice

Chicken broth 4oz.

Now i'm on soft foods:

3 weeks post-op to February 9th:

These are just a few options, but this is a day for me

I eat every 2 1/2 to 3 hours ( I actually set 6 alarms on my ipod touch for it to go off when I have to eat, WORKS GREAT and the weight is pouring off)Ive noticed the days im really busy the weight doesnt come off fast unless I have my 6 meals aday.

Water and Protein shake in between each meal.Drinks 30 mins -1hr after meals.

Breakfast : 1/4 cup oatmeal splash of 1% milk

Snack: Protein shake... 8oz 1% milk and 1 scoop of my protein powder (purchased from Wal*Mart) .

Water

Lunch : 1/4 cup Cottage Cheese

Snack: Protein Shake

Water

Dinner: 1/4 cup vegys

Snacks: Protien shake

Water

Water

Water lol.

I have not had a fill yet and im not hungry at all , even though I hear my stomach growling. If I didnt set the 6 alarms on my Ipod to go off every 2 1/2 to 3 hours, I would probably never eat.

Good Luck to you !!
