Why did I tell my friends about my plans for a lap-band? I guess I wanted the support but it doesn't seem to go that way. My husband also has doubts. Can't wait to see what family has to say. I think only my sisters would be supportive because we know the cold reality of being overweight. We saw our parents die of heart attacks due to being overweight. My mother died at home of a heart attack and from that moment on I've tried, struggled, to lose weight.

 

My goal is to live long enough to actually retire unlike my parents. Strange goal but they never did it and I want to be able to see my child grow up, see him graduate, get married, have a family, go old with my husband. I want a full life.

Forget their support. You go for the gold...in this case, the band. I was lucky when I decided to get banded. I only told a couple of people until after the surgery. Then I started telling everyone. I have found a lot of support, but mostly, I made the decision myself to do it for no one else but me. I have family and friends who are always trying to sabbotage me and derail me, but I stick to my convictions.

Just remember, you can always come to this site for support. We have all been there and know exactly what you are going through.

      Xbox And Exercise - Kickboxing

      I’ve used my Xbox for exercise games too and it can be pretty motivating, especially on days when I don’t want to leave the house. Kinect games really do make you move, and after a session with kickboxing or dancing, I always feel like I’ve actually gotten a solid workout. The controller-free setup feels way more natural for workouts than anything I tried on the Wii. Zumba is fun but definitely takes a little time to get the moves right. Lately, when I’m not working out, I spend time trading CS2 skins and finding new guides on this link. There’s a lot of interesting tips if you’re into games outside of fitness too.

      I'm literally almost crying reading this. Mostly because I'mon this pre-op diet and these last two days have been difficult... but also because I needed this! Thank you! Congrats! And a BIG congrats on quitting smoking a second time! It was hard enough to do it once... So - when I say BIG congrats... I mean BIIIIIG congrats! ❤️
