I hate the fact that I can eat anythinng I want. I dont feel like I even had the surgery. This is starting to really make me upset. I was hoping that I would feel some sort of restriction after the first fill. Nope nothing! I have been trying my best to stay on a tight diet but hey i was unable to diet before I got the surgery. Well I keep saying Im not going to give up but I keep feeling myself slide through the rules and contuine to eat whatever I want. Slap me on my hands! and lock my mouth. lol!

EVERYONE feels that way after surgery...its like you went thru ll that but you got nothing out of it! Its called bandster Hell! It can last a few months until you get restriction (usually at least half the capacity of your band) so its just the worst part. Later you'll be laughing about it but its not too fnny now! I always recommend reading the blog of band_groupie from the very beginning becuase she really takes you through all that and you'll be laughing and maybe crying with her about it. Like me she is at normal BMI and has not dieted or exercised. I found her blog very helpful!

I'm right there in bandster Hell with you!!!! I could not have blogged the words any better myself. BUT, we're not giving up....we are gonna make it!!!!! I refuse to give up! I've been sad most all day because there is nothing I can't eat in almost any quantity I want. After a long day of feeling like a total failure, I signed back in to this site..started reading these blogs and BAM!!!....I read band_groupie and xavier's comments when suddenly I get it....I'm not stopping, I'm not giving up. This is just a period before I start getting my transformation. I have so enjoyed that band_groupie's blogs, not to mention those awesome pictures.

So, I've said all that to say...GOOD LUCK!!! You'll make it...I just know it.

I was the same way after my surgery. I just figured I would be tight and not able to eat much...we all know that didn't happen. So, I stuck to the rules as best I could...I chose to eat healthy, even though it was a little more than the 1/2 cup they wanted me to eat at each meal.

I have stayed away from potatoes, bread. pasts, flour, sugars, sweets, rice, all those carbohydrates. Instead, I eat healthy - usually having oatmeal or a protein shake for breakfast , Then lunch is some type of protein (usually grilled chicken) and a salad or some other type of veggies. Dinner is veggies and protein and maybe an apple. I drink lots of water or sugar-free lemonade for a treat.

I won't say it has been easy giving up some of my favs like popcorn, ice cream, candy and fried potatoes, but I have made the commitment to use my band to the fullest extent.

Keep positive, and keep reading the rules. You will eventually get there. I had to have 4 fills before I started to feel restriction. I have a 14cc band and have 7.5 cc's in it and I think I am going to get 1 more on the 14/Nov for good measure.

I LOVE MY BAND AND I ESPECIALLY LOVE THE FACT THAT IT HAS MADE ME CHANGE THE WAY I LOOK AT FOOD. I EAT TO LIVE VS LIVING TO EAT.
