Newly Banded & HUNGRY!!!!

So I had LAP Band surgery on 10/21/11 & strictly followed clear liquid diet until I was so daggone hungry (physically--not mental, emotional, or just b/c I missed chewing) I ate a few spoonfuls of refried beans....very slowly & they stayed down & I felt much better. I've been getting 60+ grams of protein & good fluid intake but I've been so hungry this week I have eaten a few spoonfuls of mashed potatoes, some sugar-free pudding, and last night I ate (very carefully) a few meatballs in Italian Wedding Soup broth. I've lost 6lbs since last Friday, but I am hungry an hour after eating these little morsels...... I think I must be in need of a fill!! I hope I am not doing damage by eating these things. I have not felt "stuck" or vomited...just still hungry. Today I ate (very slowly) the grilled chicken strips out of a chick-fil-a chargrill wrap....I go on 11/3/11 for my post-op visit & I hope--a fill. Any opinions??????? Am I behaving badly?????? The main reason I chose this was to help me feel fuller between meals.

I am having the same issues being hungry and I hope I can get a fill on my first appt which is on 11/11 I've been eating kinda good choices but my weight loss is so so slow :(

I got the band one day after yours and I have lost 20 lbs since then but the first three days all I had was broth! My stomach didn't like me at all. It was so loud you could hear it accross the room. I wish I could eat some chicken by now but today was the first day I ate green beans. I have been eating protien shakes and jello. I go in the same day for post op as you. I just remember how much pain it was and tell myself that I didn't go through that for nothing. That is what keeps me eating right and less. Hang in there.

My doctor said that he would not do a fill until 6 weeks post op. I was banded on 9/29 but then had to have a revision on 10/4 because the empty band was to tight. I am not sure if he wants to wait 6 weeks because of the previous problems or if that is just standard procedure? I am pretty much able to eat what ever I want just in a litle smaller portions. I do feel like I get hungry before I should and plan on talking to him about this when I go in. Not sure when you doctor said to start solid food but remember to eat more protein than anything else as this fills you up faster and keeps you full longer.
