Is it just me or old habits die hard? I found myself this morning going back to an old habit...skipping meals! I don't know I am doing this?

It is hard to break old habits and we all learn what happens when we break the rules. I have found that if I carry some nuts, jerky or a mini protein bar with me I don;t skip meals. I try hard not to have snacks and stick to 3 meals a day. I think new habits are harder to develop than old habits are to break. Keep it up you are doing good.

Its so odd I started doing this now. I am now, 15 weeks past my surgery and I found myself skipping. First I thought, perhaps I am just so busy or is it something I am doing without even realizing it? Good idea about the protein bar. Being that I am always on the go that is one way I can get some protein in me. Thanks for sharing ohh and thanks for the compliment too!

I know what your mean by sabotage. I could deal with skipping a meal alot better than what I just went and did this morning. I dropped the kiddos off at school and then stopped and Whataburger and ate a large cheeseburger in the parking lot. I just had my first fill this weekend and although I have a fridge full of healthy high protein foods, I just had to go on a fat attack and eat a burger. You notice how I stayed in the parking lot to eat it because I was ashamed to eat it at home in front of the hubby and ashamed to be in the restaurant that early by myself scarffing down a cheeseburger. It's like we know what it takes to get the results we want, but we have to get past ourselves in order to see these results. Maddy your case doesn't sound as pitiful as mine but if we just keep striving we will all get there one day. #nevergivinup!

God i found myself eating candy! lol. It's not easy and people that go oh you have a lapband it must be easy to loose weight. I wanna smack them and say no its not what you think, well i do say that, just haven't smacked anyone yet lol. But i feel like my life now is an endless recipe finder and weight watcher. I am glad i lost a lot of weight but i have plateaued and i battle depression so it gets hard sometimes. And Beverly no i've done similar stuff, just afterwards i pay the price by being in the bathroom forever. Some days i want to eat the biggest burger in the world or a pizza. Old habits die hard is an under statement and i need a bumper sticker that says Lapband: I want a burger now! lol.

And Maddy or anyone i else i found the easiest best recipe. Its chicken salad you can make the night before thats so simple. You do have mayonaise but you can add as little or as much as you want. Me i dont skip on the mayo i just dont add a lot. Anyway, you boil chicken then throw it in the blender, then put in a bowl, add mayo, and basil. You add the basil to the way you would like it. Then put in fridge. Its better cold. I take this with me when i am on the go. Put in a container n bring a fork, its really good, you can add celery or anything you want but its the basil that makes it. You can keep chicken salad for awhile and putting it in a red pepper is good too. Also string cheese is good or yogart n add some granola. Just dont over do the dairy. Anyway i hope it helps, and not one person lapband or not has not loved this recipe. :)
