I was interested in buying a book to help with my lap band journey. my nutritionist mentioned a book called Eat This Not This, but it seems like there are alot different choices and that got me thinking about how Lap Band Diets are pretty unique so i figured I would go straight to the source. Thank you for your suggestions. seven more weeks to go to surgery. :D

There are a FEW good lapband books out there. I would start by looking on Amazon or Ebay under "Lapband book" I know there is one lady that I use to talk to that wrote a book about her lapband journey and I think it had some recipes in it...Sorry dont remember what it was called lol. You may also look outside the Lapband genre. I myself really like the Mayo clinic recipe book. Its a huge book full of great recipes (and most are lapband friendly) and they have all the calories and things of that sort in them. Hope that helps.. :)

Oddly, I am currently writing a book about my surgery and subsequent journey. I have a book proposal with an editor but no deal yet and nothing to share with you, yet. However, if you would like to visit my external blog, I believe you will enjoy it. Start w the archives and work your way forward. I have currently lost (5 months post-op) 86 pounds and will achieve my 100 pound loss to my target in the next month.

Well I eat the same as before my band only a lot less and some better choices most of the time. Please dont go on a diet as that hasnt worked for us in the past! Even though I keep my band pretty darn snug, there is nothing I cant eat, except, well, breakfast! I am very tight in the morning so I do have a protein drink....otherwise regular foods the same as my family.

I do always recommend a blog by band_groupie called the sweet spot for anyone who wants to hear straight talk about the band from the very beginning to end! Its very funny but she really keeps it real and she has not dieted or exercised, just made changes for a lifetime. Good luck!
