I'm doing good and haven't cheated. Not going to lie though some of my motivation was coming from seeing the scale show a decrease in numbers. Nothing for 2 days though....well I can't exactly say nothing either. I gainded a pound back yesterday.

Anyway, I know this isn't the big picture so I'm not stressing if I don't loose much more...but its nice seeing those smaller numbers for a change. :) I am curious to know though...what you did as far as weighing yourself. Did you weigh yourself each day or did you wait? If you did wait how often?

I tried walking the night before with my family but found that I was really tired soon after starting and then yesterday was a little rough. I love to go for walks but I'm thinking while I'm only consuming 500 - 600 calories a day maybe I should just hold off. What are your thoughts? Just curious?

I did the same thing. every morning i couldnt wait to get on the scale. Somedays i was sooo discouraged because i would either Gain or not lose at all. I now only weigh myself only once a week. I find it best and see better results. Walking was a good way to keep my mind off of the fact that i was starving. Just drink lots of water! good luck to you :P

I now weigh myself every two days and I might wait longer. I don't really excercise because I am not working with many calories and I don't want to fall out. But everyone is different but I think tomorrow I am going to start walking a little more. Don't stress about the pound, you know we as women hold fluid at time and it will come off. I have not cheated but whew sometimes I want to...lol. We are both on day 7 so lets keep each other encouraged

Scales, to weigh or not to weight. The scales can not always be your friend when losing weight. Everyone fluctuates 1-3 lbs daily from water weight gain. When you are doing the pre surgery diet, the goal is really not so much weight loss but shrinking the liver so when they do the surgery your liver is not in the way. In our anatomy the liver and stomach are very close and if the liver is enlarged it can prevent the physician from completing the procedure closed. In the beginning we all want that instant gratification of seeing the scale drop but for the long haul it is about results and a lot of our results are in inches not weight. As far as exercising during pre-surgery stages, your going to feel tired. Even now weighing 175 lbs it takes about 1700 calories just to maintain this weight if I wanted with little activity so if your only consuming 500-600 your body needs all of those calories just to maintain and when your exercising your body goes into starvation mode and holds onto every calorie because it needs it to provide energy to all your organs. Remember your heart is muscle and it needs protein also. Maybe taking a short walk in the evenings once or twice would be good but make it a nice walk, time to relax and center your self. Listen to relaxing music and prepare yourself mentally for the journey ahead. Your dedication to the pre-surgery diet will prepare you for the focus you need once your surgery is completed. Proud of you, you are doing great, the day is closer, only one week left.

I purposely DO NOT OWN A SCALE!! I excersised at the gym 4-5 times a week prior to surgery. Muscle mass weigh more than fat. Therefore, If you weigh yourself every day, or every other day, the numbers will probably not change, or even gain. I know or knew i was loosing because my pants needed a belt, i never owned a belt. If you are excersising, that is probably where that pound came from. The 2 week pre op diet is difficult. but remember, you can add sugar free jello, cucumbers, celery, etc. keep a hand full of these with you, just in case. what i did, i ate my jello before i went to the gym in the morning, had my shake around 9:30, my lunch 12:45, another shake around 5, and supper wheni got home 6:30, my final shake i drank one hour before bedtime. lost 7 lbs on the 2 week pre op.

I continue to be blown away by the support I find here.

@lovethenewme....I cannot thank you enough and again your advice is so appreciated.

@violetacoqui.....that was what I was thinking with the pound gained. I didn't own a scale but my mother in law picked one up for me cause she wanted to help. It is harder to NOT get on the scale than it is not to eat...LOL

@Diva...I am stoked we are at the same stage!!!!

@Boshie....I am finding myself doing more housework when I am home to keep my mind off food....My hubby loves that. hehe

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE GREAT ADVICE! :)
