I am almost 6 months out and I am still having a lot of bad days. Sometimes I cannot even keep water down. I just feel like my stomach has a mind of its own now. I throw up a lot and even when I chew it to death, but I am not sure of the portion size I can eat jusst a few bites and still get sick. Then I feel all better. I have only violently thrown up a hand ful of times but that is horrible and make my band area really really sore. But for the most part it just comes up in a blob and I feel all better. I am just worried if I am getting enough nutrition. Any one else have these problems and what do you do to help?

You might be a little too tight if you are chewing and chewing and still getting sick. You should go get a little taken out.

I went through this for many many months. Its horrible. Now, after a year, I have decided to get ALL of the fluid taken out. I learned how to eat and in what combination and the fat is dropping off. DO NOT limit your calories - all you will do is creat a muscle loss and metabolism to come to a hault. Eventually you will gain a bunch of weight back.

I advise you to go have an un-fill done so that you can eat again. Believe me, I know exactly how you feel. Im telling you, the only thing to do is get that fluid mostly taken out.

I have an appt on the 21st of this month. I am going to talk to the doctor about it. I have lost 58 pounds in 5 months. I love that but this being sick and nausuated at my stomach all the time is getting tiring. I do think I may need a little out. Will I have to do a liquid diet again when you get unfilled? I definitely do not want to gain any weight. Thanks for the comments.

Donna agree with above you it sounds like your to tight. I have several friends at work and we have all had the band. She is 1 year out and has done well but in the last several months she has had to have fluid removed becasue of vomiting and reflux. I have only had two fills and 1 partial unfill since my surgery last October. After my bad experience with my last fill and unfill I decided to learn to eat properly. I do not regret my band but if possible I do not want more fluid in it. I have lost 72 lbs and have about 25 left to lose and I know it is going to be tuff. Everytime I think I need a fill I have an episode like yesterday and everything healthy I tried to eat got stuck. Can't explain it, I have just decided the band sometimes has a mind of it's own. As far as your question about your diet after your unfill, my doctor makes you go on liguids for 48 hours post any fill, he says there is always the potential for some swelling after an adjustment. I usually do shakes for 2 days just to be safe. I hate throwing up, it hurts. As far as gaining your weight back, I think that is the daily fear we all live with, learn to rely on new habits not entirly on the band. If you do not develop a healthy life style success long term is more difficult and you will always be fearful of gaining weight. If healthy choices become a way of life you will keep your weight off. Remember this is a journey and a life style change and change does not happen overnight, it takes years to change unhealthy behaviors we all have had. Good luck and hope your feeling better and back on track soon.

The band DOES have a mind of its own, my last fill was May, i have days that i can eat and other days that nothing stays in, I go 9/19 for another fill, i can say that the weight loss has stopped only 10lbs in 4 months, but it is a loss so i will not complain!!
