I have lots of questions

I realize I have lots of questions and this seems like the perfect place to get feedback. Before my surgery (8/19/2011) I was having 2 protein drinks a day and 1 well-balanced meal. things went pretty good. Since being banded, I stayed on the liquid diet for a week, and then progressed to the smooshies. I have not had any problems with any of it goesg down or staying down. About the only thing that I find that will fill me up and hold me for a while is oatmeal mixed wth a little yogurt or one of the protein shakes (I started using the powder and mixing it with skim milk). Does this seem right? I have not felt any tightness at all and have absolutely no problems that I keep hearing about. Does this just mean that I will need the fills to help me get to where I need to be? I hate thiking about the next time I can eat, and I do not like the fact that the 1/4 or 1/2 cup of food they recommend does not satisfy me.

I was like you up until my last fill 2 weeks ago. Now I know I have a band! I have been loosing steady since day one so I would not worry to much. Some of us just have a easier time with the band. I was also told I could have up to 1 cup of food, you have to do what works best for you and you will figure it out. Me, I have to eat 6 small meals a day. Thats what work for me...Good luck you will do greatcool.gif

I have the same problem. I have only had one fill so far and still have very very little restriction. This is the part most people refer to as banster hell because we have to use self control (and I have little of that). This week has been especially hard for me since aunt flo is visiting. I have been eating bad things at least once a day every day. Can't wait til she leaves town again. lol

It's very typical to not feel restriction until your 3-4 fill. Dont rush it. I have made the mistake of going in to get fill after fill because I just wasnt losing weight fast enough and could eat more than I though. After a full year of learning about this band and the TRUE way to lose fat and build muscle, I learned I MUST eat the RIGHT foods and exercise and the fat will melt off SLOWLY. Im going in to have all of the fluid removed from the band next month. What a disservice I did to myself. With the band, Im not able to eat all the meals of lean proteins, carbs and fat that I need to eat in order for my body to melt the fat and gain muscle. I hope people read this and do their own research on FAT LOSS. Its one thing if you just want the scale to go down and look thinner. But, for me, I wanted to be healthier, look fit and lean. That is not possible with a tight band around my belly.
