Incision

My incisions are not healing well. I am so upset! The largest incision has opened up on the end. It looks so nasty puss is coming out and the smell is horrible. Yesterday I went to Urgent Care and they refused to help me. The doctor suggested that I go see my surgeon immediately. Well I’m scheduled for my follow up appointment with her on this Friday so I decided to wait till then. My other incisions look good and I don’t think there will be any scaring from them after they heal. But this big one I know will look crazy. Im so upset cause I don’t have too many bruises or scars on my body. I guess this is what comes with surgery! Lol ;) Have any of you out there ever tired Mederma if so how did it work?

I am not a medical person, but the fact that your incision has stuff coming out of it and that it smells does not seem like a good thing to me. I would at least call your dr and tell them what is going on, then let them decide what to do. It is always better to be safe than sorry. I am having some type of reaction to the staples, and my dr would not remove them yesterday because they appear red. So, he has put me on antibiotic for the next week, and he said he would remove them next week.

my big one was the one causing me problems too - was not bleeding and was not smelling bad - but you could tell something wasn't right with it - it just was all red around one end and there appeared to be some puss or something inside it but not oozing out or anything. Anyway, my surgery was on July 5 and i did not have my first follow up until around july 23 (due to surgeon vacation). He knew right away that one of the stitches was irritated or had inverted or something - so he took the tweezers and removed it (kinda hurt). Ever since then the end of that scar has scabbed over - i'm really hoping it diminishes over time as i am like you i hate scars - but i will say i am down 40+ pounds so i will take the scar in exchange LOL. Best of luck to you.:)
