I'm only 16years old and I had my lapband done 3months ago. I've been heavily overweight my whole life. I had tried everything and I even had a gastric balloon inserted and it barely did a thing I've done every diet you can think of, so this surgery was a last resort for me. I've had a lot of trouble with it I've actually been set back 3months because of wrong advice given to me by my doctor, who I'm no longer seeing because of this. I've only lost 8kilos, everyone tells me it's not bad its good.. But I know it should have been much more. I'm okay with that loss, I have to be.. I've also only just started at the gym. Only because I didn't know when I could start working out. I'll explain further about the f**k ups. I hadn't actually seen a doctor since my surgery. So last week was the first time I'd seen any doctor. That in its self was BULLSHIT! Keep in mind that I'm a 16 year old and I'd just had major surgery and was given the wrong diet plans and because of that f**k up I'd ended up in the emergency room TWICE! This had been extremely stressful on me, I'm even losing my hair! Doctors aren't supporting me like they told me they would, I've heard that you're meant to have fluid put in a few weeks after surgery or something like that, I had to wait 3months. UGH! It's been stressful and terrible for me... and all I really want is to feel pretty and actually be healthy for once in my life. I want to be confident enough to have a great 18th birthday party and have all eyes on me, in a good way.

This is just a bit about my story.

You can find lots of great advice on this website. You haven't said what your diet has actually been, so maybe if you post what you've been doing you will get opinions and advice about what you can change or try to make your band work better for you. I'm not sure how much 8 kilos is... but sometimes it takes awhile, and weight loss can be very slow. You are losing! That is a good thing! You are a pretty girl.. and I'm excited for the day you will be able to see that for yourself! Hang in there ~ the lapband is a wonderful tool for you to have on board and if you work hard, it will work for you!! It's definitely not something that will work for you if you do nothing to help it, but I'm sure you know that already. I hope you'll be able to find a doctor who will start helping you reach your goals!

I agree with freelance frog, we are all here to help each other through this . Let us know what you are eating and how much and you will get advice even if you do not want it! Also make sure you are drinking lots of water, it really makes a big difference. Just remember you can do it!
