Anticipation

I was banded August 18th @ Magee Women’s of Pittsburgh. I was so nervous before the surgery rethinking my decision a thousand times. Now that I am home I feel helpless and these gas pains are killing me. I have tried several techniques to rid the gas but I can still feel a lot of pressure inside my stomach.

I pray that this was the right choice for me. I’m so ready to try eating smaller portions I have 2 weeks of a liquid diet then I will be able to start soft foods. Currently I’m not hungry at all nor do I feel an urge to eat. But I do feel weak although I’m walking around as much as I can right now. The process of getting banded is not something I would call rough or hard its just a process of anticipating what’s next.

Hang in there I got banded on the 17th and those gas pains are something else the best thing for me was Gas X the ones that dissolve on ur tongue got from walgreens I stayed away from the pain meds and also a heating pad is wonderful I know exactly what you are talking about I was weak for 4 days it's now I am feeling much better I thought it would never end but if you can get the Gas X strips and the heating pad and WALK it helps alot hope you feel better soon and remember it's for the best and we are strong ! ;)

The heating pad and walking was the only thing that helped relieve the gas pains for me. They will finally go away with time. As time goes on and the pounds start coming off it will all be worth it! Hang in there! Good Luck!

I agree with the ladies, walking is a good gas reliever. For me the best thing is to have my husband press on my back. (press and hold either thumbs or knuckles starting from the waist to my shoulders) works great. Or an old fashion baby burping method lol. Im post op 14days no real gas, not really hungry and are on my post op 2 week diet with 2days left. You can do it, stay focused
