I have trouble believing what I read here. Fills during surgery or every two weeks or done by physician assistants. I don't get it. My doctor doesn't do a fill unless you are having trouble losing weight.

Then the things people report they are eating is amazing! BREAD? nuh-uh. Sauces or gravy?? No way. Rice, pasta and potatoes?? Don't you people want to lose weight?? I have stayed under 900 calories for 14 weeks. If I need to eat something during the day, I don't use protein shakes or power bars or anything that has more than 50 calories. Try eating the small sweet pepper (10 per) or pickles (zero) or eat a sugar-free jello (10) or drink some bouillon soup. (0) Get with the program, folks. This is your life. The lapband is only a tool that will allow your diet to succeed. The lapband is not a diet!

come see me at michaelwasfat.blogspot.com to understand what you need to be thinking about.

Yeah I made the lifestyle change..had no problems..lost 130 lbs in 10 months. Best things I ever did!! It will be 2 yrs in November (11/23/9). I never dieted..I only ate foods that I would be eating during maintenance!! Still can't believe it!!! I wish you continued success..with your attitude I have no doubt you will reach your goal in no time!! Take care!!

Well said!! :) I watched a video blog of a girl who was just eating mashed potatoes and french fries and was wondering why she was not losing weight. I thought the band was another tool for helping me lose weight with good nutrition. I've just gotten off the phone with drs. office, I'm pre op. (Aug 31) I was asking what I could do to increase fiber since all I drink are those nasty Optifast drinks with 0 fiber. I told them I was going to add some "green powder" to my protein drink. She said Oh no, use benefiber. I hate those chemical stuff. Why not do it with food. She asked about calories, green powder once a day 50 calories. Benefiber 3 times a day 45 calories. I would much rather use something healthier. Now that I'm going through with this, I'm going to make a concerted effort to eat healthy and not to use processed or chemicals. Blah, blah, I'm venting.

Dude!! Everyone is different! I agree, there are people who eat crazy food and don't lose weight and wonder why, but there are others who do everything right and STILL do not lose weight the way you have. I'm one of the lucky ones.. I've lost 60 pounds in 4 months so far, and tons of inches, and I look fabulous if I do say so myself.. and I have been extremely lax on dieting. Other than bread and chicken, I eat whatever I want. I can't eat much of it, granted, but I eat it. I also haven't touched a drop of soda since a week before my surgery. Every single person who does this surgery has a different story to tell. Some folks need a reality check, but I think you do too. I think you should stop worrying so much about what everyone else is doing, and concentrate on YOU!! You're doing great.. but I've got to tell you.. it would suck bad if I had to take a scale with me to a restaurant if I wanted to eat dinner out... but hey, it obviously works for you, and that's awesome. My point is, who cares? WE all get different advice from our doctors and dietitians. I was told to eat sauces and gravy on the meat that will otherwise get stuck. Did you know package gravy is quite low calorie? Check it out.

Perhaps you're just trying to be a cheerleader, and that's awesome. But don't forget that there are people out there who even if they followed your plan exactly would still not lose weight the way you have, so keep that in mind along with the fact that you're probably causing major anxiety on those folks who aren't having the same kind of luck you are. Just sayin...
