Ok, so today is day 3 post-op. I feel worse today than I did the day after my surgery. :( I can't seem to shake these gas pains no matter what I do. Debating on whether I should pick up some gas-x or something. Don't want to waste the money if its not going to work. I've been taking little walks and last night took a half mile one around the block. I guess I need to be patient which isn't my strongest trait. I'm not used to sitting around with nothing to do, it drives me crazy lol.

I'm excited to see how I do after I start feeling back to normal. I can't wait to get back to the gym.

Guess that's it for now, not too much else going on. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Nothing worked for me either and it lasted 4 days. I cant say it was horrible, but it was uncomfortable. It will pass.

Hello, sorry to say, I do not think Gas-X will help you. That is for intestinal gas; unfortunately, you don't have that type of gas. Besides, how are you swallowing it? Hope it isn't solid, you should be crushing it or drinking it if anything. The best thing I think that will help you is walk, walk, walk, and make sure you are taking little sips, not gulping when you drink something. Hope that helps :) Alan

NOTE: I'm not going to change my original post, but I will say that I have been taking Gas-X strips, and they DO work for me. I'm not sure why, maybe its mental, but I do not have the bloated feeling I had yesterday. I do feel more nausea this morning, but I took my nausea med and I feel better since I had some Muscle Milk Light.

Hi LeeLee, Gas x did nothing for me. I am 9 days post op and today is the first day I have felt like myself again, but I still have pain in my left shoulder, just not nearly as bad as it was on days 3-6, those were the worst for me. Hang in there, take your pain meds and it will be over soon.

*being at home not working or being productive sucks fo sure but you need to rest so you can heal. During my down-time I watched 4 movies and 3 seasons of project runway. My brain may be jello now but my tummy is better for it!!!

gas x helped me yesterday but i had to take two. the gas pain has been in my chest. i still have the shoulder pain a little, but this is my third day out and i can honestly say that i feel a little better than yesterday. i really wanted to just lay and cry when i got home i was hurting so bad. i've been on lortab since i came home. it helps so much, but knocks me out. i'm sleeping on the recliner - which with 5 kids running around the house, isn't a very comfortable or relaxing situation. :(

The pain killer the Dr. gave me helped. I had my kids pat my back hard and that seemed to relieve some of the pain. Try using the breathing thing the Dr. should have given you. Unfortunately it just takes time. I hope it helps because I remember the pain that I was in. I slept on the recliner for several days to help with the pain.

This sounds silly, but if the gas pains are in your abdomen, lay down on your stomach, get up on your knees with your head still down and put your butt in the air. Gas is lighter than air, and so it will get out of there. Works for babies, and it works for adults, too. We just look at lot sillier ;-)

The pain will do away in a few days, and remember that walking will help, too.
