Testing my Limits!

So I'm on mushies...and I have this problem with testing my limitations. With that said, I've moved myself beyond mushies and have found myself grazing on things like very small pieces of beef and baked tortillas. Also, with my mushies, well let's just say they haven't been the best choices. I've tolerated things like guacamole, potato salad, baked beans, macaroni and cheese and I even tasted (only tasted) some of my son's graduation cake last night.

Although I've only had very small portions, I get full easily, but what I do find is that I'm hungry within a couple of hours and I find myself grazing again, what's up with that? My doc said that he put about 3 or 4 cc's at the time of surgery, but apparently I need more. I do feel like I've gained a little weight, but I've been too afraid to get on the scale. I can't wait to feel that satiety that the band is supposed to be famous for. My saving grace is probably the fact that I turn my treadmill walks into full workouts (doing a lot of variations).

I must admit that I do feel a little discouragement, because I expected my first month to be really successful with the loss. I do think I'll be more successful when I'm not limited on what I can do physically.

Anyway, I hadn't posted in a while, because I didn't want to be discouraging to others, but this past week has been somewhat of a struggle. But what I do know for sure is that better days are ahead!

Yep you are experiencing what most of us banders have! A lull in your progress and hunger. Sounds like you need a fill soon. Don't be discouraged. I think it is great that you are using the treadmill and getting exercise. Not all of us can do that, so be proud of yourself that you can! Stay focused and keep us posted on your progress. Good luck! :)

You will find that after your fills you will be able to eat less and less of the things that you are currently able to tolerate! For me it's tortillas! Pre banding I ate everything on tortillas LOL and for the first five or six weeks post band I could still eat them without too much trouble, but after this last fill my band is totally rebelling against tortillas! A few other things as well.. but I'm happy about it for sure.. if I could have kept up eating that crap I'd never get where I'm going ! LOL Keep exercising.. and as soon as you get your next fill I bet you'll find you have a lot more restriction on things that you can eat pretty easily right now.

You are NOT alone on what you're feeling!! I'm on my 2nd week (gosh it feels longer!!) of mushies and have found myself grazing on small amounts of food to "test" my limits. I've had no issue, but I'm worried I'll end up hurting myself more than help. Next week I get to go on REAL (semi-soft) food (Yippy!!) and the week after, I get to see my Dr to go over my progress and I think, to get my first fill!! :o)

Hang in there!!

We're only human and make mistakes sometimes.

Thanks for the encouragement ladies, it helps to know that I'm not going through these feelings alone and there is still a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

Italy,

I've had my band since May 18th and I've lost roughly 10lbs...my weight loss has seem to slow down considerably the last past week. I'm shooting for better results this week.

Hey Kym girl i'm in the same boat. i'm on soft foods and i have gained 3 of the 15 pounds back that i lost pre-surgery. I was so upset and discouraged till i contacted my dietician. I am soooo ready to get a fill and start seeing this weight fall off i dont know what to do. i know that the first month is supposed to be for healing and i'm not expected to loose much weight, but that still doesnt mean i dont get upset that it's not happening. I just want the restriction now so i can get this ball rolling. i feel you hunny! trust me i feel you.
