Ups and Downs

Friday may 20, 2011

Today I woke up feeling amazing. How I hate that word right now. Amazing. Seems everyone over uses it. But that is how I felt. I jumped out of bed ooops forgetting I had surgery. Amazingbecause just day before my innards still felt sore. And nothing today. So I felt really spunky. Worked my butt off made payroll, paid weekly taxes, employee child support payments.Something I detest doing. But hey I am legally bound lol. Hate being responsible for what others should have done all along. Another blog subject!

Then it seemed the day went to crap. My emotions are so close to the edge.

I am thinking about food all the time. What the heck. Mary you are not physically hungry!

Theres the key:

Feeling emotional= thinking of food constantly.

I wonder at what age this started for me. I will have to mull that over in my mind. But it hit me like a ton of bricks. I used to eat whether happy or sad. Always a food to celebrate the moments.

I need to find a release other than food when I am feeling emotionally vulnerable.

Something physical would help but that is limited as I am only one week post surgery.

Sex would be another option but husband is away for four days :(

Theres me being very open :) and humorous.

So much to discover about why I am the way I am.

Some things I like, (many things) but so many I dont. But Im a work in progress.

What post op diet do you have to follow? I came out of the hospital with 2 weeks full liquids, 2 weeks mushy/puree, and 2 weeks almost regular. I'm now 3 weeks out, and know exactly how you are feeling. I about lost my mind towards then end of the full liquid stage. Dreaming about regular food, and craving a hamburger in the worst way(not the bun or condiments, just the hamburger). I walked extra on the treadmill to help with the cravings.. It will get better..

I've been dreaming about food in my sleep. Today it was endless yogurt (don't know why I was craving that when it's in my fridge waiting to be eaten...). But I agree, I just want to eat, eat, eat and I can't. Once I get out of the house I'm not so hungry though. It's only at night do I want to graze the kitchen. I've been drinking some crystal light before bed (like when watching tv). That really seems to help any craving...I buy the lemonade kind (YUM). I really hope that things start to get better. You can do this!! And I'm glad you're feeling better!

    • I’ve used my Xbox for exercise games too and it can be pretty motivating, especially on days when I don’t want to leave the house. Kinect games really do make you move, and after a session with kickboxing or dancing, I always feel like I’ve actually gotten a solid workout. The controller-free setup feels way more natural for workouts than anything I tried on the Wii. Zumba is fun but definitely takes a little time to get the moves right. Lately, when I’m not working out, I spend time trading CS2 skins and finding new guides on this link. There’s a lot of interesting tips if you’re into games outside of fitness too.
    • I'm literally almost crying reading this. Mostly because I'mon this pre-op diet and these last two days have been difficult... but also because I needed this! Thank you! Congrats! And a BIG congrats on quitting smoking a second time! It was hard enough to do it once... So - when I say BIG congrats... I mean BIIIIIG congrats! ❤️

      Einarmige Banditen
