It def slows down quite a bit after that 1st month. It will pick up again just be patient. As long as you are eating as directed by your surgeon and exercising. The same thing happened to me. Some people actually gain some wt. after the 1st month before they start to lose again.

Haha... unless you are considerably overweight.... losing 10 lbs in a month is awesome. For most of us, the weight loss is VERY slow. Ive been banded 8 months now and have only lost 30 lbs. I am a size 12 now. I work out very hard 5 days a week and I am able to eat pretty much whatever I want. I dont want another fill because then I get sick, stuck and throw up all the time. Enjoy what you have now. It seems to be working for you!

Until you get filled to good restriction you are in 'bandster hell' meaning you have gone through all this stuff and the band isnt helping you a bit. One of my docs said even half full the band is not helping you yet. So you just have to struggle until your doc gets you to good restriction which can really take a while! Goos luck and hang in there...it gets MUCH easier!

Hello Domesticgoddess3940,

You are doing well. I am now 8mo's post op and so far I'm down 30lbs. Granted during the first month i lost 23lbs but everyone is different, it's really one's metabolism. I am not able to walk much or exercise as i would like to because of my disability. Eat healthy foods, and continue doing what you're doing.

I am 4.5 years out. And it took me almost a year to lose 40 lbs. I am down 62 pounds and would really like to get the other 25 off, but I have kept that amount of weight off. I went from a size 22 to a 12. If I was excercising on a reg basis, I am sure the rest would come off. It is a slow process, 10 pounds is good for the first month. Watch the sweets and eat the protein. You will get the rest off.
