;) Ok since I found this site I am obsessed. I used to log on to Facebook whenever I got on my laptop, but now it's always here first. I'm not only obsessed with the site, but with the whole process period. I'm so excited to finally be getting my band and just wish the day would get here already. I cant seem to think of anything else. Right now i'm not sad about the food i'll be losing but the health i'll be gaining. It seems that all my friends that know wanna "eat with me one last time". they act like I'll never be able to eat again! LOL! i understand where they're coming from though! LOL! Just thought I'd shar my thoughts.

Im with you, Im always logging on any chance I get, no one at work know that Im planning on the lapband so the same people with all the good food and sweets ALWAYS save a dish for me,wow.... I cant tell them no thank you, I trying to learn discipline before surgey, because I know I will be paying the big price by throwing up! UGH

I remember those days! Enjoy it now because it changes over time. Ive been banded 8 months now. I did not have to go on a pre-op diet at all. After surgery I had 7 days of liquids and mushies then I was eating normal meals. Dont feel like it will be your last meal with your family because it wont. It takes 3-4 fills until you actually feel restriction. I was a little over 1/2 filled and I was getting everything stuck. I was unable to get all my protein in and sometimes I would go for days throwing up my own saliva. I got sick of throwing up every 30 minutes so I had some fluid taken out. Now, I feel great. Nothing gets stuck however Im not losing weight any more. Im stuck at 200 lbs and a size 12. Ive only lost 30 lbs . I really thought I would do better than that since Im a workout rat.... but that is just not the case. Please know that having the band is an excellenct choice but it can be very hard to manage and you dont always get the results you want. My story isnt unique. Ive read similar stories time and time again. Even when you do all the right things...weight loss can be extremely hard. Stay excited! The band is a great tool. Just be warned that more often than not it can be very finicky and unpredictable. Best to you!

Wow. Kelly and I have almost identical stories except that I am 10 months out and have only lost 58 pounds. I still have 100 to go and working out doesn't help. Since working out I haven't lost a single stationary ounce actually.

Kelly you in Colorado by chance? Your pre and post op sound like it was for me and everyone else has extreme pre and post op programs.
