worried

Young and banded

So today marks my one month post op of surgery, and im down 20 something lbs. and im happy with the results but a little worried. When i eat i dont sense the feeling of fullness. I just stop myself when i know i should be full (2-4ounces) cause i know the risks of over eating. But im confused why i never get the feeling of fullness. People talk about how one egg fills them up and stuff but i never get that "oh my god im so full" feeling... anyone else get these? solutions ? tips ? suggestions?

You wont have that feeling until after you have had a few fills. I didnt have a feeling of restriction until my 3rd fill which happened about 3 months out. The first few months are really just simple dieting. Even now for me.... its a lot about dieting. If I eat very slowly, I can eat just as much as I use to. I dont want to get my band filled any tighter because then I trow up all the time and I cant get enough calories in. This is so hard. I think its great that you have lost so much weight already. I have only lost 30 lbs in over 7 months!!!! Im glad I made the choice but its much different than what I expected. I have no idea where the "sweet spot" is. I either feel like I can eat anything or Im so restricted that I take one bite and throw up all day. UGH. This band is so crazy. I really didnt know I would be DIETING for the rest of my life.

I have the same feeling of not feeling full but they told me it was normal and will get better as I get more fills.

I am 14 weeks out, 1 fill in, 2nd fill next week and I dont feel anything either. I often wonder if I ever will BUT in the meantime I have been controlling my portions to be what they expect me to eat when I get there and I am doing fine. 20lbs in a month is fabulous! You are doing something right!

It all takes time and the more you set your ways without the band, the better you will succeed! The band will only be a back up! Keep up the hard work!

I felt that "full" feeling after my 4th fill & my friend felt it after her 2nd. Its different for everyone. Just make sure you eat the right foods and don't over do it because there are consequences... and they are not fun at all blink.gif

Try to eat to the point of being 'not hungry' instead of full. The full feeling will come with fills. Good luck!
