Hi Shelly,

First off you ARE doing great!!!

I am having surg the 31st, so I thought I would share some of my plan with you.

We have a wonderful NP at our doctors office who had GBP surg herself and is a wealth of information.

To the hospital I am taking a nice pair of PJ's I bought for myself, slippers and a robe. For during the time after my surg til the following day I have a book for reading, a puzzle book, some crochet (a small project that I am working on), and for the following morning we are able to shower the following day some nice shower gel, body lotion and the stuff to do my hair. She told us to take things to make us feel good about ourselves, will be up walking within 2 hours post op and want to be looking good (lol).

I usually have problems with my BP during anesthesia, so they usually have to give me extra fluids, so I have a pair of larger, warnout slippers packed also.

For at home I have stocked up on soups, natural fruit juice with no sugar added (dilute it 1 to 1 with water post op), crystal light, SF popsicles, Gas-X strips, SF jello, and she also suggested picking up a rotisseri chicken and pureeing it with chicken broth freezing it in ice cube trays for when you are able to start with soft/pureed foods so you have something good and ready for yourself.

I hope that some of this information is helpful to you and best of luck!!!!!

Shelly, I forgot to mention that I also have packed a set of comfy clothes to come home in - nothing constricting for the ride home. Again, best of luck. Celeste

Good luck and I am sure you are excited. I had my surgery on the 22 and so far so good...I started a blog that I will keep daily including my food intake since it is very important. I went in at 630am and by 1230pm I was home. So I didnt stay over night. I did buy everything the night before to take the stress off a little. By the time I got home I was tired so I showered and went to bed. Before you know it I was on my way in. I have tones of broths, jello, popsicles, EAS protient shakes but atkins are better...just didnt have any when I went. you can add me as a friend and we can help eachother if youd like
