SLIMING

Well it happened to me today! I thought I would try out a packet of tuna without the water as I have never had it before. Well not thinking, I ate it without moistening it first. Well it didn't take long until I was in total miserable pain of being "stuck". I thought I would die. After about 5 minutes of this torture, I started sliming and then totally throwing up. Lesson learned - do not eat dry packaged tuna without moistening it first. Sometimes I can be so stupid it seems! Lol :(

what are you supposed to do so that doesn't happen? just leave the water in it? or do you have to do something else.

Yah - or you can add fat free miracle whip or some other liquid to it to moisten it. Same thing applies to all meats. They will stick if they are not moistened. You don't ever want to experience "stuck" - trust me!

OMG, Tuna did that to me too and I even had mayo in it. My husband told me I had it in big chuncks and that is why it happened. Mr know it all but a great support person...LOL. I found that banana's will give me the slimming too. Tried it twice and now no more bananas unless I put them in my shake. You feel like you can not breath when that feeling hits you. It is hard to explain to people that stuck or slimming feeling but I know what you mean. It is so nice to know that you can talk to others about it that go thru the bad stuff but also fun to talk about watching those scales numbers go down. Have a good day.

unfortunately i've had a few incidents with getting stuck, slimming and throwing up. I attribute to not chewing enough...but my husband decides he wants to play 20 questions while i'm in the middle of it! I know he's doing it coz he's concerned but that is NOT a time I want to answer anything! He now knows just to let me get through it!

Hi all! Thanks for this Rosey. I have had no incidents at all except a minor upset stomach (knots) after eating a small amount of popcorn. I read so much about these incidents that I am worried that it may happen to me. Thanks for sharing ALL OF YOU! This knowledge is the biggest benefit for me on the site!

THANKS AGAIN

Yep, this has happened to me as well -- last night with salmon -- it was pretty moist and I chewed until pureed but still had the issue -- guess we keep learning what works and what doesn't -- it's nice to know we're not alone going through these trials ... keep up the good work everyone. I often stick with cottage cheese, yogurt, Healthy Choice soups...

I love crab meat and it does it to me too! If I add it to a salad with a little light dressing, then I'm ok, but eat it with out..and STUCK...

I can't eat bananas at all. No idea why!!

I only have 2.75 cc's in my band, I was banded on Dec 6, 2010. I am down 30 and seem to be stuck right now..

I go back to the dr on the 5th of April and wonder if I will get more in my band.?
