Five Days Post Op

Thomas Moore

Can't believe it's only been five days and I am twelve pounds lighter!

The next pound I loose I will ve under 300 pounds, and I havent been under 300 lbs in at least ten years.

I am thinking that I need to reavaluate my weight loss goals for the first month. I had originally planned to lose fifteen for the month. As I have already lost 12 pounds in 5 days. At this rate I will reach my weightloss goal of the month in a week. Now I am not complaining one little but, it's just I am shocked on how much weight has come off so fast! I would like to hear more about peoples first months of weight loss to get a better idea of realistic weight loss goals.

Right now I am just cycling twice a day, and walking but am considering th 25k in 9 weeks program....any thoughts.

LOVE your motivation. Setting goals is very important as well, but I don't think it's necessary to change them. Rather, give yourself the celebration when you reach that goal early, and set a new mid goal. It may change those long term goals, but don't erase them. Just ammend them because of JOB WELL DONE!!! I lost 23 pounds since surgery day... 8 days. I had not set any short term goals because I was prepared to just focus on healing and following the diet. I am super excited about this success and we will see where the next few weeks takes me. I am certainly not going to set goals that will lead to disappointment though. Beware of that!!! My inner goals are to follow the diet strictly... and only I know if I am doing that or not. I think that is the key.

congrats to the both of u!! yippee!!....I also have lost a total of 26 lbs since starting this journey 4 weeks ago....I luv how u both have so many goals and things to accomplish..However, in reality...is this not hard mentally?? I'm not sure if I am in the right frame of mind yet.... I am happy, excited , dont get me wrong...but emotionally I am struggling a bit...I find myself sad at different times in the day....maybe because I am only on full liquids....maybe when I can eat again, solids..will I feel different....I'm scared that I dont have the right attitude at this point...?? I wish u both much success and happiness....I will continue to pray for stength and finding my happy place.....jenn

Jin,

I made myself and everyone nuts for weeks prior to the surgry only eating liquid and making myself nuts worrying about if my mind was well enough to deal with the changes that woulod come with the band. I remind myself daily about how the band is the tool, and like any tool it is only as good as the person using it. I think you have have to have your head in the game. right now this time, is your healing yorself after years of miss use. It's all about you, and you focusing on you. 26 pounds in no little amount of weight to loose...so pat yourself on the back and keep on trucking for the your goals.

    • I’ve used my Xbox for exercise games too and it can be pretty motivating, especially on days when I don’t want to leave the house. Kinect games really do make you move, and after a session with kickboxing or dancing, I always feel like I’ve actually gotten a solid workout. The controller-free setup feels way more natural for workouts than anything I tried on the Wii. Zumba is fun but definitely takes a little time to get the moves right. Lately, when I’m not working out, I spend time trading CS2 skins and finding new guides on this link. There’s a lot of interesting tips if you’re into games outside of fitness too.
    • I'm literally almost crying reading this. Mostly because I'mon this pre-op diet and these last two days have been difficult... but also because I needed this! Thank you! Congrats! And a BIG congrats on quitting smoking a second time! It was hard enough to do it once... So - when I say BIG congrats... I mean BIIIIIG congrats! ❤️

      Einarmige Banditen
