I am a really picky eater, always have been but I was still over the years able to pack on the pounds. I decided to have the surgery because I was tired, had really high blood pressure and was always the big girl with the pretty face. I am having issues because I throw up alot. I don't like fish, I don't like squash, I don't like to cook anymore. We are empty nesters, my kids have been gone for years now. I kind of quit cooking because it was just my husband and I. We went out a lot. Now, I am at the point that I don't know what to eat.

I think I still eat too fast. I am drinking protein supplements and eating eggs. That is getting boring. Everything that I really like is not good any longer. Any suggestions????

sorry to hear you are having a bad time. If i ever have to smell broth again i will puke. My diet is meats, cheeses, and dark leafy greens. I live off of eggs, turkey bacon and sasuage, sliced turkey from the deli, mayo, mustard, and dark leafy salads. This is a lifestyle change, its not an easy one, but it is well worth it. Try soem different spices, Thyme, garlic, etc. I hope you can find you "sweet spot" and things turn around for you. Good luck keep us posted.

I go through a lot of different recipes and found recipes to try. I focus on getting my protein first. I usually eat turkey and chicken. I use ground turkey when I make tacos. My kids even like it. I just do not eat the tortilla, I put my lettuce, tomatoes, or salsa on top of the ground turkey for flavor. I also spice up my eggs. I will add different vegetables to add flavor and nutrients. You need to find those things that you enjoy and play around with it. I have totally change the way I eat and the way I cook for my family. I agree with AmyH33 play around with spices and other things to add flavor to your food. When I got my 3rd fill. I threw up a lot at first. However, when I looked at what I was doing...I knew I had to change my habits. I had to truly eat like I had my lapband. I had to take smaller bites, and eat "super" slow. I warn people now that if they are going to eat out with me that I eat slow.

As far as eating out, you can still do it. I alway check out the menu before I go. I have a plan in place and also know the nutritional content. That way I make the best choices. IF I am running errands and it is time to eat, I go to Wendy's to get a small chili. It is high in protein and the Calories are right under 200. It is one of the better choices that I can make when I am in a bind. Red Lobster has the bay scallops (not fried). They have a light menu. I am not big on fish so I go for the scallops and grilled shrimp with vegetables.

Good luck with your journey! Just know that you are worth it!:)

    • I’ve used my Xbox for exercise games too and it can be pretty motivating, especially on days when I don’t want to leave the house. Kinect games really do make you move, and after a session with kickboxing or dancing, I always feel like I’ve actually gotten a solid workout. The controller-free setup feels way more natural for workouts than anything I tried on the Wii. Zumba is fun but definitely takes a little time to get the moves right. Lately, when I’m not working out, I spend time trading CS2 skins and finding new guides on this link. There’s a lot of interesting tips if you’re into games outside of fitness too.

      Einarmige Banditen
