We've all been there.. just stay on the plan and stick with it... I too lost more weight during the pre-op than I lost in the same amount of time after... (there's actually a slight gain after surgery from the IV fluids and gas) I like 32lbs in 3 weeks pre-op and in the 3 weeks post op I lost 20 so you'll be glad you stuck to it.. and honestly not everyone looses during pre-op or has big numbers as a result but you're doing this so your body will be in it's prime condition for surgery and healing.. You'll do great, be encouraged!

I agree - you have to stick to the pre op liquid protein diet 100%. It will help shrink and defat your liver before surgery thus making it easier to visualize your stomach with their instruments. Less pain and better healing also. It will be worth the effort in the end. Trust me. The worst part of surger is the gas pain afterwards which you will feel in your left shoulder, back, neck , chest, etc. Just walk, walk, and walk. Take pain meds for the pain also. Don't wait till it gets too bad. When able to eat post op. - take tiny drinks or bites and chew chew and chew or you will get terrible spasms. It is just a matter of listening to your band and getting the hang of things. You can do it too! You have all of us to help you through this. Good luck to you and take care. Keep us posted on your progress. :)
