Sooo.. I have been given alot of verbal info as to what to eat after being banded but I know as soon as its done Im going to freeze up and not know what the hell to do or how to do it. Is there a book thats good out there that breaks it down step by step for you or is there any information anyone would be willing to email me. The closer I get the more I think about this and honestly I am starting to freak out. I feel like Im going to be banded and then be alone and have no one to call or ask. I am going to be like this crazed crack head not eating right and googling everything to figure out what the heck to do. I see so many of you asking questions on here and I can picture myself doing that now. But really when it comes down to it things like I am in panic mode :(

Wow.. many people have viewed this and yet not one person had any suggestions.. pretty scary.. maybe this site isn't what I thought it was. Have not seemed to have any feedback ever. :o/ maybe that's why they push support groups sucks my work schedule doesn't permit it.

Well I will not be on of those viewers and not respond!!! I am also one of those that you can text all day and I will respond!! There are several books out that explains things but nothing really says eat this today and eat that tomorrow--over time it all comes together. Your doctor is going to give you a basic plan that says you can have liquids for this many days, protein shakes for this many days, purees for this many, soft foods for this many and then you are off running. Do you cook? That is a huge question! Then will you be cooking for a family or just for yourself? (what I mean there is are you single or with a family...I whole heatedly believe that you should have your family eat the same foods you do--so there is only one meal made..you might have to puree yours but your are still cooking the same meal. I know a lot of single people still eat frozen pre-made meals or eat out quite often so that is different.

Here are a couple books I have downloaded...I have a kindle but you can get them in hard back or soft..

The Truth About Lapband Surgery S.A. Morse

The Expert's Guide to Weightloss Surgery Garth Davis

Website I love besides this one is www.sparkpeople.com and www.sparkrecipe.com

I hope this helps you and I am sorry that now one has responded to you!!! I wish you the very best on your journey!! When is your surgery date??

Thank you for responding. I wasn't wanting a million responses just even one with an idea. And I got it. Thank you again :) I have a little girl she is 22 months and my Guy. Thank you for the book idea and the other web site. I will have to check those out. Another girl on her gave me an idea on another book. I see so many people on here say that they were given a bunch of information as to how and what you can eat from the Dr and Nutrtion most of my stuff was word of mouth and the more nervous I get I feel the more I forget. My surgery is Feb 8th.

Thank you Marnetta.. I have found more than a handful of different books but I dont want to pull out my bank card and start buying usless material. Thank you for the response. I have not really looked much into the sleeve. What made you choose that over the band? Best of luck to you :)

Hi Sunny,I was constantly doing research on the band,I was even looking it up about 2 yrs ago and I never thought I would have the guts to go through with it so once I started going to the siminars, at the hospital I had the chance to talk to the doctor about both procedures and she said that she prefered the sleeve over the band and I asked why ,she said that there is so many failed lapbands,so I asked her which one and she said both have had erosions and slipping,a was always been one to ask questions ans I wanted to know why was there so many failed bands she told me that once people lost the weight the band would slipp because they went back to there old eating habbits and for the erosions can in when they would get there fills they wouldnt know when to stop eating and would throw up and the stomach acid would erode the band but it would take a while for this to take place ,,,I am not to excited about having a second surgery...I want it done and done right the first time,,,with the sleeve you get your stomach cut down to a bananna size and it will streach it you do overeat...but you have to be commited to any of the procedures in order for them to work.....if you get a chance go to verticalsleevetalk.com and look around and read before you go through with the surgery ,,,I would rather you read and make up your mind than to have the surgery and be sorry if you feel that you have made a mistake....just read it so you can really say that you looket at it....camille01

oh ok. I liked the band just for the simple fact that nothing inside my body had to be cut or anything. that scared me too much. I want a change sooooo bad so im willing to try; something. I really hope this works well for you. I know there are complications with all of them I pray that I do not run into any and the same for you :)

Get yourself some one-cup sized bowls...they're tiny! Start with half full bowl of protein every meal. After that try to eat some fruit and veg. Eat only when hungry and try to get at least 60gm of protein a day. If you can eat more than 1 cup of solid food you need a fill. I am very tight in the morning so I always have a premier Protein drink...they are in a case at Costco. 160 calories and 30 gm protein. I never count calories because I cant eat enough for it to matter unless I ate ice cream (slides thru band) all day. Good luck, I think you will get lots of good support here but yes, it can be a bit overwhelming.

Oh and also my doc stitches the stomach together by pulling a little piece from above and below the band and has NEVER had a slippage...please dont get your stomach cut out and tossed in the trash because of fear of complications. The FACT is that complications are much greater as you choose a more invasive procedure. You are at less risk with the band than sleeve. I am a complete no willpower diet failure and I am finding this easy. I cant eat as much as my piggy self wants to and I just keep losing weight...I dont exercise. I am in a size 8 now and started in a bursting 16...good luck!!!
