8 Weeks And counting

I was banded 8 weeks ago, and I am having my ups and my downs. I have lost 27 lbs, but I have been pretty stationary in this area for a while. Inchs are still coming off slowly but at least there coming off. I had my first fill 2 weeks ago. When the doctor put my band on he put 3ccs in and then added another 1cc 2 weeks ago. I still dont really feel the restriction that everyone talks about, but I have another fill booked for Febuary 8. I was hoping to be down 30Lbs by christmas, and now with the end of January approaching Im feeling a little like a failure.

 

On a positive note, I had to go shopping because my jeans, work dress pants, and bras were not fitting anymore. It felt really good for the person to tell me I cant by my bras in the plus size store anymore. I went down from a 44 to a 38. The jeans I bought were a Size 20, the old ones were a 24. And the dress pants were a size 16 from a size 22. I kind of feel like I have my motivation re newed. I am not sure what type of diet to follow. I have not been eating anything close to the way I use to eat. do any of you follow structured diets of choice?

first of all congratulations, any change at this point is great! I cant wait to go shopping. I am on a very strict diet, i am only 18 days out and am one full liquids, by week 8 my diet should be meats (turkey, pork, fish, etc, no beef) dark leafy green veggies, and cheese. Talk to your doctor and ask what diet if any he wants you on. I see people on here that eat anything they want just smaller portions. Best of luck!

I was banded on friday January 7th, 2011 in a small town in Central California. I'm 41-years old married with a wonderful wife and two daughters, whom I love more than life itself. Yet afraid and unsure, I knew this life-band was my very last hope. My current stats to-date are putting hopeful thoughts back into my life, I'm actually starting to smile once again. Pre-op 282lbs 11 days post-op 251lbs down 30lbs.

These first 11 days have been interesting to say the least. One interesting fact that I wasn't prepared for was the continuing shoulder pain I experience after doing my daily treadmill workout. I'm aware of the pain related to the Anastasia relating to the surgery that can last a couple of days. This is different, it's painful and I really hope it's not something that hangs around for to long. Honestly, if I had to live with this pain in order to continue using the band, no question! absolutely I would!

My appetite has diminished beyond my expectations, and for that I'm grateful. I'm already introducing tiny pieces of white chicken as I feel my body really needs the nutrients. Religiously I'm consuming 3-4 large protein drinks throughout the day. I have also started two sessions of treadmill per day, burning roughly 300-400 calories per session. I feel like nothing can stop me now! I'm ready for this life changing experience. It's time to hold on really tight.

God bless all strugglers! 11 days post-op and I'm down 30lbs. I'm actually beginning to smile again. The life-band has handed me my life back! Lap-band, Water,Treadmill, Protein and love for yourself! That's all you need!!!!!!!!
